Japanese Bamboo Art from New York: The Abbey Collection (The Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka)
There has been an increasing international interest in modern and contemporary Japanese art crafts.
The Abbey Collection in New York is a well-known example of Japanese bamboo art collections formed overseas.
Japanese Bamboo Art exhibition was held in Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2017.
This is the first “homecoming” exhibition in Japan featuring the Abbey Collection.

館藏以「安宅典藏」的中國及韓國陶瓷為中心，加之「李秉昌典藏」的韓國陶瓷、以及濱田庄司作品等來自各方的捐贈、和日本瓷器的收藏等；以東洋陶瓷的收藏而論，則本館不論質與量，都可躋身世界一流之列。其中，包含2件國寶及13 件重要文化財。此外，承蒙各方捐贈含波斯陶器、鼻煙壺等相關領域之藏品，館藏內容持續充實進步。
在展品的陳列展示上，依中國、韓國及日本陶瓷各自的歷史時代和風格樣式，再搭配最適合的展示方式，以約300件代表性作品，分別且有系統地進行介紹。亦以專題方式，每年推出1至2回的企劃展和特展，期在確保學術水準與藝術價值的同時，規劃出引人入勝的內容展示。

The Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka is held the exhibition about lighting devices produced in Japan(latter half of the Edo period ; almost 19th century).
The use of the lighting devices such as lantern oil dish, oil lamp and candle stand began to diminish from around the early 20th century.
大阪市立東洋陶磁美術館では特集展「灯火具－ゆらめくあかり」を開催しています（2019年）。
江戸時代後期の灯火具（あかりを灯すための道具）には落ち着いた風情があり、当時の様子が燭台や行燈皿に垣間見えます。
ろうそくの灯をイメージしながらお楽しみください。

大阪の中心部にある中之島公園内を自転車でしずしずと走ってきました。自転車で走ってもとても広く感じます。大阪市の中心部なのに何かイベントがあるとき以外は人が少ないです。ウォーキングや気分転換にいいかもしれません。ビヤガーデンや自動販売機もあります。

The Nakanoshima Park (Nakanoshima kōen) is located in Kita ward, on the Nakanoshima sandbank, lying between Dōjima and Tosabori Rivers. The 11 hectare park houses public facilities such as Osaka Central Public Hall, Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library and Museum of Oriental Ceramics. It also holds a rose garden. The City Hall of Osaka building is located on its west end.
