Qimei Island Tour (Penghu, Taiwan)
Qimei ranks the fifth largest island in the Penghu Archipelago. After handover of Taiwan to the Kuomintang, the island was renamed to Qimei or Cimei in 1949 to commemorate a historical story from the Ming Dynasty in which seven women committed suicide when Japanese pirates raided the island. The maiden jumped into a well which later grew into 7 rare Catalpa Bungei trees.
By the island, there is a reef rock protruding from the sea which is in the shape of an expecting woman. Legend has it that on the island there once lived a sweet couple. One day, the husband went out fishing and then died at sea. Unable to bear the sorrow, the wife jumped into the sea to commit suicide. After several years, the rock near the coast miraculously formed into the shape of an expecting woman.
The Double-heart of Stacked Stones or the Twin-Heart Fish Trap is a stone fishing weir located on the north side of Qimei Township. It is a well-preserved ancient fish trap made by stacking stones to form a trap that resembles a flying heart.

Taiwan episode 15 - Kinmen Jinsha township
Continuing the third day visit of Kinmen, this time in the east part of the island. Visiting an old village, with a lot of urbex since most of it is in ruins, and encountering a cinema crew that will block us to visit an important place of the village. I hope you will enjoy as much as we did!

Taiwan Episode 9 - Wandering in Jincheng Township
Second episode of this 3 episodes arc (you should watch episode 8 first), after our lunch we visited the Kinmen Military headquarters of Qing Dynasty then explored a bit the old town. This made us realize the pace of this island. Relaxing but rich. Since you are exploring with us I want you to experience this like we did, that's why I didn't put any music except for intro and outro. I hope you will like it!
Thanks for watching!

Cyonglin or Qionglin Village Tunnel (Kinmen, Taiwan)
The Kinmen / 金門縣 / 金门县 village of Qionglin or Cyonglin has an extensive military tunnel or bunker complex that runs underneath and connecting many parts of the village. The tunnel's total length is 1,355 meters with 12 exits and most of the network is 6 meters underground.
Due to the village's key strategic location on Kinmen, all the homes in the villages are connected by a network of tunnels, leading to the nickname Combat Village.
To improve the civil defense fortifications, work was begun on extending and upgrading the tunnels in 1976. With the village office as the center of defenses, the tunnels were extended towards the north and south. A command post was also built under the village office with connecting tunnels to air-raid shelters, bunkers, pillboxes and private homes.
