Museum of Power - Marshall is Alive!
The Museum of Power, Langton, Essex had a steam gala day on Sat 9th April 2011, in which the massive Marshall engine was in operation for the first time for 50 years. Beautiful weather today, and lots of people there, with steam traction engines, miniature steam railway, and lots to look at. A highly recommended destination for an Essex Day Out (essexdaysout.com)
[Wikipedia] Langford and Ulting railway station
Langford and Ulting railway station served the village of Langford, Essex. It was opened in 1848 by the Maldon, Witham & Braintree Railway (MWBR) on a branch line from Witham to Maldon East and Heybridge.
It was originally named Langford but was renamed Langford and Ulting in 1923.
The line and station closed to passenger services in 1964 as part of the Beeching closures.
