Meeting of Roma students in Brno
Check out our video of the weekend meeting of 30 Roma students called Baruvas (in Romanes We are growing), which took place in Brno´s Cejl neighborhood (nicknamed the Bronx) at the end of March. The meeting was organized by ROMEA with the financial support of Albatros, Bader Philanthropies, Open Society Fund Prague and Velux.
The students learned more about the history of Roma in the Museum of Roma Culture, about how to defend their opinions, and filmed short news stories in the streets of Cejl. Most importantly of all, they learned that they are not alone, that there are many other Roma students for whom education is important, and they confirmed that it´s worth studying and pursuing their dreams.
The music here is from the !DelaDap Album: Cigani Ruzsa + Angelo

Czech mosque vandalised with death threats
The first mosque built in the Czech Republic was attacked on January 4.
The graffiti said, Do not spread Islam in the Czech Republic, or else we will kill you.
But this was not the first attack on the Muslim community in the country's second-largest city of Brno.

Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic
The fairy tale town of Cesky Krumlov radiates around the Vltava River, crowned by a castle tower. The second largest castle in the Czech Republic was founded by the Vitek family in the first half of the 13th century and visitors can explore furnished Renaissance, baroque and rococo interiors. There is an active graphite mine in the town where a museum outlines the areas mining history.
