Places to see in ( Nancy - France ) Museum Aquarium de Nancy
The Nancy Aquarium Museum , often abbreviated as MAN , is a heritage institution of scientific culture jointly managed by the Greater Nancy Metropolis and the University of Lorraine. This museum of natural history includes zoological and palaeontological collections as well as living collections, mainly ichthyological. The ground floor of the building has three aquarium galleries, with the Nautilus and Calypso galleries, as well as the boat room. This floor also hosts a temporary exhibition space and an amphitheater. On the first floor are the zoology gallery and another exhibition space.
The museum-aquarium of Nancy is located in the heart of Nancy , at 34, rue Sainte-Catherine , axis connecting Place Stanislas and Porte Sainte-Catherine . At the rear of the building is the former Nancy Botanical Garden, known as the Dominique Alexandre Godron Garden . The museum is served at 300 meters by the station Iron Division , on line 1 of the tram Nancy . Free parking is possible along the eastern canal and the marina, near the Sainte-Catherine gate.
The building housing the museum, built in 1933 , is in Art Deco style . It was designed by the architects Nancy Jacques André & his brother Michel André . The work is notably inspired by the work of the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright . As a necessary condition for the good conservation of natural history collections, the building has a windowless facade, completely blind. The building is protected as historical monuments since December 6, 2016.
The natural history collections include about 18,000 naturalized specimens out of a total of 140,000 specimens of which 600 are currently exposed; the collections are varied in nature: mammals, insects, collections of ethnology, osteology, stuffed animals, dry or fluid collections. Most of these specimens are very old and were naturalized at the end of the xix th century.
The Museum-aquarium presents 57 aquariums accessible to the public. New arriving animals routinely pass through the quarantine room. Indeed, transport and packaging weaken animals, making them more susceptible to disease. If necessary, treatments are administered either orally or by balneation.
The aquariums are mostly panoramic and have capacities ranging from 60 to 14,000 liters . The body of the aquariums is made of polyester resin. The filtration is independent for each aquarium, which makes it possible to have no interference between the aquariums, as much from a physico-chemical point of view as from a sanitary point of view. Operating 24 hours a day, partial ultraviolet sterilization reduces the load of pathogens that may exist in the water. The lamp powers are adapted to the volumes of the aquariums.

Places to see in ( Nancy - France ) Musee de l'Ecole de Nancy
The Musée de l'École de Nancy is a museum devoted to the École de Nancy, an Art Nouveau movement founded in 1901 by Émile Gallé, Victor Prouvé, Louis Majorelle, Antonin Daum and Eugène Vallin in the city of Nancy in Lorraine, north-eastern France. They were joined by other artists, notably Jacques Grüber.
The museum, opened in 1964, is set in the former house of a patron of the École de Nancy, Eugène Corbin. The architect was Lucien Weissenburger. It has a garden, an aquarium pavilion, and the main building contains works by all the major Art Nouveau artists of Nancy, which was one of the major centers of the movement in Europe.
The museum is located in the former property of Jean-Baptiste Eugène Corbin, the most important patron and collector of École de Nancy artwork. The garden, a pleasant oasis of fountains and flowerbeds, was completely restored in 1998 and offers a variety of plants designed by Nancy horticulturists and École de Nancy contemporaries such as Félix Crousse and Victor Lemoine. Furthermore, the garden houses three emblematic École de Nancy and Art Nouveau monuments:
- The oak door was created in 1897 by Eugène Vallin on the request of Emile Gallé for his workshop, located on avenue de la Garenne in Nancy.
- The funerary monument, erected in 1901 at the Preville cemetery in Nancy, is the work of the architect Girard and Parisian sculptor Pierre Roche.
- The pavilion aquarium is attributed to the architect Lucien Weissenburger. The door and the window fanlights are decorated with Jacques Gruber's stained glass.
