The Shanbehzadehs Ensemble offers a unique aspect of hypnotic dances and
traditional music from the Persian Gulf and more precisely from the unkown region of
Boushehr.
The main instruments include the Neyanban (Iranian bagpipe), Neyjoti (double flute),
Dammam (dual faced percussion), Zarbetempo (percussion), traditional flute, Senj (local
type of cymbals) and Boogh (horns).
Founded in 1990, this Ensemble directed by Saeid Shanbehzadeh delighted audiences in
Iran, Europe and North America with the hypnotic rhythms and melodies of this amazing
music.
TRADITIONAL MUSIC FROM BOUSHEHR
Boushehr is situated far of the centre of Iran, near the south-west coast of the Persian Gulf.
This city lives at the rythm of a tradition and a culture different from the North, especially from
the region of Teheran.
The history of Boushehr is the symbol of a fishing village which has become a strategic war
area.
Down the centuries, Arabian, African, Indian, Armenian and Jewish populations integrated
the city and participated to the local trade.
The music from the city of Boushehr arose from the unique combination of Persian, Arab,
African and Indian traditions that came together centuries ago in this southern Iranian cultural
crossroad on the Persian Gulf.
This diversity results from the wealth of local traditions in which music plays a vital role in all
aspects of life: religion, work, social events, drama, music therapy and trance.
The traditional musical ensemble of Saied Shanbezadeh is available
for concerts, festivals and workshops.

Tehran is home to many historical collections, including the royal complexes of Golestan, Sa'dabad, and Niavaran, where the two last dynasties of the former Imperial State of Iran were seated. Tehran's most famous landmarks include the Azadi Tower, a memorial built under the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah of the Pahlavi dynasty in 1971 to mark the 2,500th year of the foundation of the Imperial State of Iran, and the Milad Tower, the world's sixth-tallest self-supporting tower which was completed in 2007. The Tabiat Bridge, a newly-built landmark, was completed in 2014.

The Gothenburg Botanical Garden is situated in a formerly completely rural area, where earlier a great country estate named Stora Änggården was located. The Garden was initially funded by a donation from the Charles Felix Lindberg Foundation, in special memory of Charles Felix Lindberg [sv] himself.

Inside Iran - My Tehran
Music: Labkhand (smile) by Kamakan Band
Hugging the lower slopes of the magnificent, snowcapped Alborz Mountains, Tehran is Iran’s most secular and liberal city. Spend time here – as you should – and you'll soon realise that the city is so much more than a chaotic jumble of concrete and crazy traffic blanketed by a miasma of air pollution. This is the nation's dynamic beating heart and the place to get a handle on modern Iran and what its future will likely be.
Exploring this fascinating metropolis will transport you on a journey through more than 250 years of Iranian history – from the glittering Golestan Palace and the adjacent Grand Bazaar to the beautiful Azadi Tower and the notorious former US embassy. Then there are the city's many excellent museums and serene gardens. In such places, as well as in contemporary cafes, traditional teahouses and on the walking trails in the mountains, you can relax and enjoy all that's good about Tehran.
