Port Carling Ontraio
Port Carling, located in the most prestigous area of Muskoka Lakes, Ontario Canada, is a tourist heaven and a cottagers haven. It is a focal point for much of Lakes Rosseau and Joseph as well as northern Lake Muskoka.
Many nice little stores and boutiques. There is so many interesting things to see - boat locks and a lift bridge right in the middle of town. Old mahogany motorboats, quaint churches, and its own summer theatre and museum.
We enjoyed arriving by boat and eating at Turtle Jacks. We returned the following day and walked around this little town checking out many stores.
Video was shot with a GoPro camera mounted on our Bryant 210 boat.

This video was filmed by Reverand Herbert Ball in the 1930s and 40s in and around Wigwassan Lodge, Tobin's Island, Lake Rosseau, Muskoka. That's him with the white hair appearing out of nowhere.
This was what Muskoka was like 70 plus years ago. Unfortunately there was no soundtrack so I have added some (hopefully appropriate) sound effects.
This series is presented unaltered and unedited. Much of this footage was shot in colour which would have been considered 'state of the art' for home video at the time. Enjoy a trip back in time. More in the series at

Our Visit to Niagara Falls
On our cross country motorcycle trip we visited the Niagara Falls. We enjoyed learning about the falls and traveled up the river on the American side to see the flow gather speed as she slipped down the incline past Three Sister Islands and then cascading over Canada's Horseshoe Falls. We also took the Maid of the Mist boat into the breech at the falls and came back at night to witness the light show. An exceptional excursion on our trip.
