Canada Day, Casa Dea Estates, Mustang Drive-In Picton
We made the most of our Canada Day Weekend. We hit Zwicks for Canada Day, then watched the fireworks at the boat, the next day we went to Bon Echo Park, followed the next day with Casa Dea Estates Winery's Grand opening and then Watch the Twilight:Eclispe at the Mustang Drive-In Theatre.

Mustang Drive In
At Guelph's Mustang Drive-In Theatre, Leader of the Pack by the Shangri-Las welcomes movie-goers rolling in as the sun sets behind the 24-metre-wide screen backing onto a corn field. Pillows and blankets roll out of family vans and pickup trucks.
At the far corner of the snack bar, a father lifts up his son to peer into the projection room where Bill Cardinell, one of Canada's most senior projectionists, spools up the evening show on one of the two Century projectors warming up.
Cardinell learned on the same silent era film projector on display in the snack bar. The craft of projection — the showmanship — was taught to him by his father, who worked at Guelph's Capital Theatre. He then apprenticed right out of high school in 1952, and went on to work nationwide for Famous Players and IMAX.
Part mechanic, part magician, he beams spotlights through coloured gels, ashtrays and stencils of a mustang onto the screen just to add a little class to things.
I hate a naked screen, he said.
