1073 Akatarawa Road, Akatarawa, Upper Hutt City
Change Your Outlook at Riverbend
This exceptional lifestyle property offers the perfect balance of peace and practicality with spectacular views and sprawling park-like grounds.
The main home is positioned to enjoy scenic views out across the Akatarawa River. Bi-fold doors open out from the lounge and dining room, granting access onto a large covered deck - ideal for entertaining as the evening sun slips into the Akatarawa forest.
With four double bedrooms, two lounges, a sauna and separate spa house - there is ample space for friends and family alike. Our vendors have carried out a number of significant upgrades including installing a brand new roof, largely double glazed windows, efficient heating system and a log burner - creating an environment that is a pleasure to return to at the end of the day.
The property boasts a completely separate, very private two bedroom family flat. Located down its own driveway and overlooking the river, the additional accommodation is in an idyllic setting.
Located at the very start of the Akatarawa Valley, the property benefits from a rural location whilst still being on the fringe of the city. Heading up the sealed driveway, you can be in Upper Hutt in 10 minutes and Wellington in just 35 minutes.
With so much to offer 1073 Akatarawa Road is set to become one of the most popular listing of the season. For tender documents and more information please contact Ben today.

The Super Six at Spa Park, Taupo - NZ Disc Golf National Tour 2013
Held on the 6th and 7th of April at Spa Park, the Gentil Sport Taupo Classic, was the 4th New Zealand National Disc Golf Tour Event of 2013. It was a great success. With a record turnout, brilliant weather, some extremely challenging golf, some potentially dangerous rough and a healthy dose of joie de vivre a fine weekend was had by all. For full coverage, get to and checkout the photos, story and scores.
Here I present the Super Six; the top six playing an additional 6 holes. With Simon taking a six stroke lead into the playoff, it seems David would have to perform a miracle to take the day. But nothing's sure in Disc Golf!
The highlight for me was making an Ace on number 17 on Sunday morning, skipping my naked Star Teedevil into the basket 82 metres away. The next player, Myles, threw and hit the pole of the basket - another very fine shot, and great to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, despite losing my favourite driver on the first throw on the first hole, and getting some pretty nasty cuts from Blackberry.
So, if you find a ever find a pink Sparkle Opto Bolt deep, deep, deep in the blackberry on hole 14, it's mine. :P
Thanks for watching - and please enjoy.

The Super Six at The South Island Champs, Wanaka - NZ Disc Golf National Tour, November 3rd 2013
Join me following the Super Six Playoff at Lismore Park, on Sunday afternoon, 3rd November 2013. [more...]
This was event number 13 of 14 for the year-long, all-seasons National Disc Golf Tour of New Zealand. The South Island Disc Golf Champs was hosted by Martin Galley, and Hazen Simson of Vorticasport, ably assisted by Dom and many dedicated individuals and businesses in Wanaka.
A great turnout saw 17 pairs play two rounds of doubles on Friday. Simon Feasey and I took that out convincingly even with a 2-stroke penalty applied after our scorer transposed our scores on a hole. Two rounds of 17 under was pretty convincing, also.
Saturday and Sunday saw 3 rounds of Singles played by 46 competitors, and I achieved my goal of 21 under, but didn't feel that happy about it after turning the last three holes from easy birdies, into bogies, dropping six shots and keeping me out of the Super Six, which is fortunate for you, otherwise you wouldn't be watching this!
I saw some absolutely magic Disc Golf over the 3 day event, and shot 13 full rounds + practice, in the 7 days I was away. The highlights for me were the awesome hospitality of Martin and Robyn, the brilliant Lismore Park course with 6 new Championship tees, playing very well with Simon in the doubles, driving extremely well throughout the event, driving better than anyone except Simon from the tricky elevated 16th tee, and parking the 117 metre drive on the very dangerous number 17 three times in a row.
It was fantastic to play with U-18 prodigy Edward Cochrane, and to supply him with a pile of drivers after the comp. I had forced him to play with mids and putters for 8 months in Queenstown. Ed threw a 12 under on his first round, beating me by 2 strokes - with no drivers! I doubt I could have done that on a good day.
It was brilliant to play with the ever-relaxed and quick-throwing Russell King, but don't blink! Hazen Simson, who turned on a blinder of a round on Saturday morning, was awesome to watch; both of us on the third card, but only one of us getting up to the top six. As always, it was brilliant to get some rounds in with Dom - whose standing throw is an inspiration.
All weekend on the course, I didn't know where to look, because so much great Disc Golf was going on all around us. A big apology to Akira Kuroe, whom I'm sure I distracted on the tee, when I shouted about a drive on another hole. Sorry about that!
The filmwork is patchy I'm sorry to say; I didn't have my $5 steady cam, and it was so bright I couldn't see the screen on my camera, and just pointed it in the general direction, and hoped for the best.

Thanks to Vorticasport, Outside Sports, the Wanaka crew, and all competitors, for making this such a stand-out event on the National Tour.

Japanese food in New Zealand
This video is about My travel in New Zealand Since 4th May, 2015.
BR in NZ?
Due to being being out of town, I've had to improvise this week, which has lead to an interesting curiosity about one on New Zealand's passenger rail services and its connection to British Railways.
My apologies in advance for the lower quality video/audio. This is due to not having my own gear and borrowing an old SD camera.

Lismore Park Disc Golf Course Tour, Wanaka. New Zealand's newest basket course
While down south for the Queenstown Classic, I swung by Wanaka for a few days of Martin & Robyn's very fine hospitality, and put this course tour together for you. The weather was fine, and hot, and the region officially in drought. Filmed on Tuesday, 12th March, 2013.
We lucked into a calm day for shooting - as Lismore Park is often heavily wind affected.
A good golfer will go round here in 15 under or better.
This video does not demonstrate good golf. We filmed this at the end of a week where I played over 19 rounds in 7 days, as the pre-tournament practice rounds involved a lot of second, third, and fourth throws.
Lismore Park has a dedicated group of local players, and the course invariably has players if the sun is up and it is not raining. A delight to play in windless conditions, it can be a nightmare when the wind starts howling - so bring your heavy discs!
