I really wanted to learn to fly, and a microlight / trike seemed like the quickest, cheapest way to do it! This little video just shows my journey from a total novice through 20hrs of great instruction to my very first solo flight. I still have a lot to learn, but the feeling of that first solo was just amazing!

Update from Malaysia, June, 2013, by Cyle O'Donnell, the Travel Geek

This update from the road comes from my hotel just outside Kuala Lumpur after an epic hike up Mount Tabur West, a three- to five-hour hike depending on ability. More footage will be gathered this week (second week of June, 2013) including scheduled shoots while waterfall abseiling, motorized paragliding, coral reef snorkeling on the beautiful east coast islands and an end-of-trip helicopter tour over the city.

The Great Ocean Road is an Australian National Heritage listed 243 kilometres (151 mi) stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Allansford. Built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 and dedicated to soldiers killed during World War I, the road is the world's largest war memorial. Winding through varying terrain along the coast and providing access to several prominent landmarks, including the Twelve Apostles limestone stack formations, the road is an important tourist attraction in the region.

My 1st compilation of footage from my RUNCAM 2 attached to my MJX-X600 Drone. For pretty much $200 AUD for drone and HD 1080P 60FPS Camera i am pretty impressed. This is the same place that a week earlier i had an accident where drone and camera both took a dip in the water. Amazingly both survived and it led to my discovery about the macro ability of this Little ripper of a camera.
The footage is a bit shakey as i do not have a gumball of any kind for the camera (i dont think the drone would like any more weight either). The camera is simply supported by 2x loops of Velcro strapping to try to take out the jello effect. All i need to do now is slow down my movements when flying.
So if anyone wants a cheap drone and or camera to learn to fly i would suggest both of these.
