Lovely Day Out in Caversham by River Thames & The Swans
Just a quick short, my boys checking out the Swans on river Thames, in Caversham Reading. The birds just look so beautiful and there are just so many of them.
As long as you bring along a loaf of bread, you can feed the birds as long as you make sure, you ONLY feed the ones in the water.
Please do NOT feed the birds on the Sidewalk, there is an ordinance advising you against that.
Thames River Cruise
The perfect venue on the Upper Thames.
Thames River Cruise was established in 1974 when it all started very simply with one small open launch operating from Caversham to Mapledurham.
Things have moved on considerably. All the vessels are of the finest standing on the Upper Thames and are constantly being updated to meet the most stringent of standards. Staff and crew are trained not only to the exacting requirements of Boatmanship expected by the Marine Safety Agency, but also in customer care to ensure that the highest level of service is provided.
In-house catering can provide anything from sandwiches to a complete banquet. There's an extensive range of menus and the cuisine can be altered to suit your individual requirements.
The service often combine with local hotels and attractions such as Mapledurham House or Beale Park for other land-based activities.
The range of entertainment on board is almost endless with Jazz bands, Rock Bands, String Quartets, Karaoke, Discos and Casino Tables, to suit all ages and tastes.
Their main aim is to provide the perfect venue for your occasion, supplemented with suitable entertainment, a superb standard of food and excellent service.
Special trips are run for Group and Coach Operators. All cruises require minimum 40 persons. Thames River Cruise has been running cruises for groups for many years. Groups vary from retirement groups, clubs, associations and school parties. We are more than happy to design a cruise to more of the destinations along the river.

Highlights of Part 6 video my walk is Starting from Henley-on-Thames The walk from Henley-on-Thames to Marsh Lock is a lock and weir situated on the River Thames in England near Henley-on-Thames Back in the 17th and 18th centuries, the lock saw a wide range of goods being carried to and from London in heavy barges. Produce such as wool, timber, grain and malt all made their way through Marsh Lock. Because the lock is unusually situated on the opposite side of the river to the towpath, a long wooden bridge was built from the Oxfordshire bank to the lock island below the weir, and then back again to the riverbank above the weir. This feature is unique on the River Thames
The walk from Henley-on-Thames to Tilehurst. The Thames path quickly becomes rural from Henley-on-Thames into the lovely village of Shiplake where the path briefly leaves the river. READING THAMES IN CAVERSHAM 2016
SPRING SUNDAY
Royal River Thames Cruising May 2013. Caversham to Moulsford.
FRUITCAKE BOIZE go cruising again. We occasionally went topless when the sun was out. Sir Ronny mastered some new 'sea man' techniques including 'docking' and 'mooring up steamr'. As ever we rogered some cabin bouys & as always 'northern darts player from @ull' did fukk all even at 1 stage totally casting the full LENGTH loose in a lock. Rear Admiral gave that (non) rating a damm good thrashing 4 such a major error of judgement on the high seas. Both 'Ratings' did well overeall. A big B+ for the 'good dr' who maintained his ability to take (only) 5 minutes to open & close automated lock gates that 9 yr olds mastered in seconds. 'Hull rating' was sadly though awarded only a C-. He regrettably drank, (less than 30 mins after cast off') ALL of the only milk on board the vessell meaning The Captain, The Rear Admiral & the good dr had fukk all milk to add to their freshly brewed coffee bags. It was the Kat (deeley) of 9 Tails 4 PR then henceforward. He was whipped & thrashed without mercy. Not learning his lesson from his previous daze buggerances - he then failed to brake into a £5 note to pay his share at Royal Thames Riverside lunch in Pangbourne preffring instead 2 view the local surroundings. Disgraceful. Its a KORREKTION COURSE for PR B4 he sets sail again........
