Our stay in Mykonos wouldn't have been the same with out a visit to the city center aka the old town as far as we're concerned haha. The Mykonos town is home to the idyllic white buildings and blue bannisters - everything you've seen in those travel photos on Instagram and exactly what you expect from the Greek islands!
Greece has the white buildings and photo opportunities all over, but the old town is definitely the home of the largest groupings we could find around Mykonos - so made for the perfect place to travel and film a vlog with no people at 8am!

Mykonos o Micono (in greco Μύκονος) è un'isola greca delle Cicladi, situata nelle vicinanze di Tinos, Syros, Paros e Nasso. Ha una superficie di 86 km² e il suo punto più elevato raggiunge i 341 m sul livello del mare. Al censimento del 2001 contava 9320 abitanti, per la maggior parte residenti nella città di Micono (nota anche come Chora), che sorge sulla costa occidentale.
Micono è un'isola cosmopolita che accoglie migliaia di turisti durante tutto l'arco dell'anno. L'isola era considerata come il paradiso della comunità LGBT, ma in seguito si presterà a diventare la capitale estiva della tolleranza in genere.
L'isola dà il nome a un formaggio caratteristico, il Kopanisti Mykonou di sapore forte e salato.
Tra le spiagge più rinomate figurano, nella parte meridionale dell'isola, Kalafatis, Ornos, Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise ed Elià. Aghios Stefanos e Panormos sono invece tra le più conosciute nella parte settentrionale. Il nudismo è consentito, ma meno diffuso che nel recente passato.

Today we travel from Athens to Mykonos on a Greek ferry, Hellenic Seaways. Ferries in Greece are common to reach the islands but...⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
We're leaving Athens and bound for Mykonos, heading over on a Hellenic Seaways ferry to see what the experience on those Greek ferries is all about! We struggled to find any travel vlogs on the ferry process, costs, timings and experience online so decided we'd pick up the camera and create our own vlog as we jumped on the ferry in Athens.
Hellenic Seaways in 2018 was a decent ferry, price was reasonable to purchase the ticket but the food on board was ridiculous, the costs were silly over priced. Paying for seats on the ferry seems like the best option, the other guests were stuck on the outside and mega uncomfortable.
Check back for our next Mykonos video! But for now, our review on the Greek ferry experience was pretty decent - travel was easy and for the most part the trip was painless.

The Greek Islands can be tricky to reach without a yacht, even with a boat having sailing experience, or the ability to create your own cruise itinerary with managing which islands to visit.... BUT, Greece is such an astonishingly beautiful place that we knew we wanted to get our cruise on to check them out. Luckily Med Experienced launched a few new tours this year, we picked the Sail Greece itinerary and made our way to Corfu. Here's a link to the Med Experience trip we took, we loved it!
Greek Island cruises are pretty common, but often on much larger yachts or ships, that can't get into the small islands. More important to us, those bigger cruise ships wouldn't allow us to actually swim, jump off the boat or be more flexible with the cruise in general - flexibility is nice to have on any sailing with weather!
