Secret Shrine WAKAMIKO at Kirishima City, Kagoshima, Japan
(Wakamiko Shrine)
I happened to find this hidden place at Kirishima City.
This shrine is just along the seashore.
The atmosphere is full of something spiritual.
Deity has a cocoon-like shape.
I heard only local fishermen come and worship.
(Name of Wakamiko)
The northern part of Kagoshima Bay is the big crater (diameter 20km) and called AIRA Caldera.
The central part of the caldera (north of Mt.Sakurajima) is called Wakamiko.
Wakamiko keeps volcanic activity under sea water.
You can see many hot bubbles are popping up on the water surface.
Local fishermen call the phenomenon Tagiri (which means boiling in local Kagoshima dialect.)
I think that those fishermen built this shrine in hope of calmness of Wakamiko.

Kagoshima Tsurumaru Castle (Reimeikan) in Kagoshima City, Japan (9th February 2015)
TSURUMARU Castle (Kagoshima Castle)
HISTORY
In 1600, Tokugawa Ieyasu defeated opponent lords including Shimazu at the battle of Sekigahara, Gifu Prefecture.
As a result, Ieyasu established Tokugawa military government in Tokyo.
Shimazu immediately built this castle to prepare for the battle with incoming military of Ieyasu.
However, the invasion was cancelled and Shimazu family was allowed to continue to govern Kagoshima during Edo period.
Instead, Ieyasu reduced territory of Shimazu greatly.
This castle had not been used for battle until Meiji Period.
In 1862, Namamugi Incident took place in Kanagawa Prefecture.
At the incident, British ambassador was killed by Samurai of Shimazu.
As a revenge, British navy attacked Kagoshima city (Anglo-Satsuma War) in 1863.

About Sakurajima
Sakurajima, one of Japan's most active volcanoes and is the symbol of Kagoshima. The volcano emits smoke constantly, and minor eruptions often occur many times per day. Located in the middle of Kagoshima Bay, Sakurajima is the area's most splendid geographic feature as it is located in the middle of Kagoshima Bay. It has an elevation of 1117 meters and a circumference of about 50 kilometers. A Powerful eruption happened and burned everything in 1914, however, grasses and plants are growing these days.
Access information
In Sakurajima
Travelers visiting Sakurajima can find many attractions just around the Ferry Terminal, including an onsen, foot baths, short hiking trails and an information center. Those who would like to further explore the volcano should travel by rental car, which can be taken across the water from Kagoshima by the ferries. Sightseeing buses, regular buses and rental bicycles are other possible methods of travel.
The way up to Sakurajima
Kagoshima and Sakurajima are connected around the clock by frequent ferries. The one way ride takes 15 minute and costs 160 yen. The ferry terminal is a ten minute walk from JR Kagoshima Station or a five minute walk from the Suizokukan-guchi tram stop, and is also served by the City View Buses.
There are also regular city buses that run infrequently from the ferry terminal along the northern coast (departures every 1-3 hours) and along the southern coast (departures every 40-90 minutes) of Sakurajima.

I made a wedding ceremony at Kirishima Shrine in Kagoshima prefecture.
After the wedding ceremony, we had a dinner party and stayed at the “Wasure no sato Gajoen”.
I wanted to make a free wedding, so I took full advantage of my former wedding planner manager 's experience to produce it myself.
The preparation period is about 4 months.
In doing a wedding ceremony, I decided to have a wedding theme of Nature, Japanese, real luxury, knowing enough

WAKE Shrine worships Mt. KIYOMARO WAKE at Kirishima City (beautiful flowers of WISTERIA)
(Wake Shrine)
The shrine worships a politician Mr. KIYOMARO WAKE.
He used to live in Nara Prefecture, but political scandals sent him to the south Kagoshima.
On his way to Kagoshima, assassinates attack almost killed him, but many boars saved his life. For this reason, you can see several boar statues at the shrine.
(Wisteria Flower at Shrine Garden)
Wisteria flowers are most beautiful at the end of April.
This is the best season to visit the shrine.
I came to the shrine and took the video on 6 May 2015. The most of wisteria flowers are gone, but I could manage to find the LAST wisteria flower!
(INUKAI waterfall)
Just across the road of Wake Shrine, you can walk to see INUKAI waterfall. It is said Mr. Ryoma Sakamoto came here on his honeymoon. The splash water is beautiful. It is very cool even in the middle of summer thanks to the mist of waterfall.

[4K] Wabi-Sabi 2️・侘寂の庭園 2 Japanese Concept of Wabi-Sabi
[4K] Wabi-Sabi 1・侘寂の庭園 Japanese Concept of Wabi-Sabi ↓
Kanji Calligrapher : Mr.Westley Wong
He did a great calligraphy for me.
I was very excited and happy to make videos using his calligraphy.
Thank you.
Wabi-sabi” is a Japanese aesthetic concept
that has greatly influenced the Japanese people in various areas from haiku poetry and Noh theatre to tea ceremony and modern art.
「侘び寂び」は、俳句や能楽、茶道や現代美術にいたるまで、日本人に大きな影響を与えてきた日本の美意識のひとつです。
The words “wabi” and “sabi” were originally used separately, but today they are usually combined together as one expression.
「侘び」と「寂び」はもともと別々に使われてきた言葉ですが、現代では一緒に組み合わせて使われています。
“Wabi” is the attitude of seeking beauty and inner contentment in simplicity and imperfection, and this concept is said to have developed alongside the spirit of the tea ceremony during the Muromachi Period (1336-1573).
「侘び」は質素なものや不足の中に、美や心の満足を見出そうとする意識のことで、室町時代に茶道の精神と結びついて発展したと言われています。
“Sabi” is the attitude of seeking beauty in withered things where their internal essence
is oozing out to the surface, an example of which is a stone covered with moss.
「寂び」は古びたものに美を見出す意識のことで、内面世界の本質が外へにじみ出していることを差し、例として苔の生えた石が挙げられます。
The spirit of “wabi-sabi” is not contained only in Japan but has substantially impacted Western art, architecture, literature, and movie making, and it is known to be one of the design philosophies of Jack Dorsey, a founder of Twitter.
「侘び寂び」の心は日本だけにとどまらず、西洋美術や建築、文学や映画製作にも強い影響を与え、ツイッターの創始者の一人ジャック・ドーシーのデザイン哲学としても知られています。

Cars Flowing, evening of Kagoshima City
This video was taken around PM 5-6.
It was the time when many business people were going home.
Kagoshima's traffic are not congested during this rush hour.
Although Kagoshima City has trams and buses, many people want to buy and drive a car.
This is because public transportation is not so convenient as big cities like Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka.
If you come to Kagoshima and travel, I want to recommend you to rent a car.
There are so many kinds of cars in Japan.
Unlike other countries, there are many small cars in Japan.
Small cars are cost-efficient and their tax is much smaller than other big vehicles.

[4K] 智積院 京都の庭園 CHISHAKU-IN The Garden of Kyoto Japan
Scenic Garden – An exquisite example of a garden with artificial hills and a pond –(名勝庭園)
The origin of this garden, which is said to have been the favorite style of Sen-no Rikyu, the master of tea ceremony, was made in Shounzen-ji Temple (a predecessor of Chishakuin Temple) established by Hideyoshi Toyotomi. Later, after the temple was renamed Chishakuin, the 7th generation head monk, Unsho, took good care of the garden and transformed it into of the best gardens in the Higashiyama district.

Unzen Onsen,National Park,Nagasaki,Japan
【Unzen: History and Adventure amid Natural Wonders】
Welcome to Unzen, one of Japan’s first and finest national parks, where a whole host of activities is available to fill your days and nights. Most travelers begin their visit with a stroll around the bubbling, boiling sites of volcanic activity that are warmly referred to by the local people as jigoku, or “hells.” Trailheads that lead to the top of several nearby peaks start in town, or a short drive away, and the routes range from family-friendly strolls and picnic spots to intermediate-level, full-day climbs of rocky summits. Many visitors also choose to soak their cares away by immersing themselves in the “hell”-heated hot spring baths. These can be found in all the local hotels, as well as several quaint public spas, and the mineral-laden hot water is believed to have health benefits and relaxing properties.
Unzen is a location of natural beauty year-round. It is part of the Unzen Volcanic Area UNESCO Global Geopark, centered around a volcano that has been active for half a million years. In the spring, a wide variety of azalea blossoms blanket the mountain slopes in pink, and the Japanese dogwood trees turn the slopes white in early summer. The natural forest means spectacular bursts of color in the fall, and in the winter, the rare phenomenon of rime ice forms on the forest trees, glittering diamond-like in the sunlight.
Unzen has long been a favored destination for visitors since the priest Gyoki established the Manmyoji Temple in 701.
It gained international renown in theMeiji period (1868–1912), when visitors from other parts of Japan and Asia would use the town of Unzen Onsen and its surroundings as a cool highland getaway from the oppressive summer heat.
Today, Unzen continues to appeal to international travelers and Japanese looking for mountain adventures, historical appeal and a very unique, mysterious landscape.
【Climbing Mount Fugen: Unzen’s Highest Accessible Summit】
Climbers who want to make a full day of climbing Mt. Fugen, a moderate to advanced-level hike, should begin in the town of Unzen Onsen. Shorter routes, however, begin at the Nita Pass Unzen Ropeway station (1,080 meters) or at the upper ropeway station on Mt. Myoken (1,300 meters). The highest point on the peninsula, the lava dome from the 1990 eruption, is still off-limits to climbers, but the routes to Mt. Kunimi and Mt. Fugen are open and offer a wide
range of terrain. The trail passes across narrow ridges, through mossy valleys, up and down rugged rocky steps, and past cave openings and the boulder-strewn dome. In some places it could be called “Ghibli World,” for its resemblance to the landscape that appears in the beloved animations of Miyazaki Hayao.
【Broad vistas and volcanic formations】
The weather is very fickle at altitude and the peaks are often swept with banks of fog, hampering visibility, but when clear, the views along the way are spectacular. One highlight is the up-close look at the formidable dome. Keep an eye out also for the stone ruins of buildings that were once connected with lava caves and used for storing silkworm eggs during the Meiji period (1868–1912). Equally fascinating are the many strange volcanic formations and rocks, including “breadcrust bombs”—stones with a cracked surface that were tossed out in the recent eruption. The summit of Mt Fugen, at 1,359 meters, has a number of photogenic rocky outcrops. On a clear day, climbers can experience a panoramic view that extends as far as Mt Aso, sometimes even as far as Mt. Sakurajima, some 140 kilometers away in Kagoshima!
The route that leads from the top of the ropeway to Mt. Fugen and back to the bottom of the ropeway takes between three and four hours.

Izumo Taisha video travel | izumo city | izumo taisha temple
Izumo-taisha (出雲大社 Izumo Grand Shrine?, also Izumo Ōyashiro) is one of the most ancient and important Shinto shrines in Japan. No record gives the date of establishment. Located in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture, it is home to two major festivals. It is dedicated to the god Ōkuninushi (Ōkuninushi-no-mikoto), famous as the Shinto deity of marriage.
A style of architecture, taisha-zukuri, takes its name from the main hall of Izumo-taisha. That hall, and the attached buildings, were designated National Treasures of Japan in 1952. According to tradition, the hall was previously much taller than presently. The discovery in the year 2000 of the remains of enormous pillars has lent credence to this

Utsunomiya (宇都宮市 Utsunomiya-shi, Japanese: [ɯᵝt͡sɯ̃ᵝno̞mija̠]) is the capital and largest city of Tochigi Prefecture, in the northern Kantō region of Japan. As of May 2015, the city had an estimated population of 518,200, and a population density of 1,240 persons per square kilometre (3,200/sq mi). Its total area is 416.85 km2 (160.95 sq mi). Utsunomiya is famous for its gyoza (pan fried dumplings). There are more than two hundred gyoza restaurants in Utsunomiya.
Greater Utsunomiya (宇都宮都市圏 Utsunomiya Toshi-ken) had a population of 888,005 in the 2000 census. The nearby city of Oyama is included in Greater Tokyo, but Greater Utsunomiya is not, despite the two areas amalgamating somewhat. It is the 10th most populated city in the Kantō region.
- HISTORY
Archaeologists have uncovered evidence that the area of Utsunomiya has been continuously settled since the Japanese Paleolithic period onwards, and numerous burial mounds from the Kofun period are found within its borders. The Utsunomiya Futarayama Shrine (宇都宮二荒山神社), which is the Ichinomiya of Shimotsuke Province claims to have been founded in 353 AD. The town of Utsunomiya developed around this shrine, and the area was under the control of the Utsunomiya clan, an offshoot of the Fujiwara clan from the Heian through Sengoku periods, and was destroyed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
During the Edo period, the Utsunomiya area was ruled by a succession of daimyō clans under Utsunomiya Domain, and prospered from its location at the junction of the Nikkō Kaidō and the Ōshū Kaidō. During the Bakumatsu period Boshin War, the Battle of Utsunomiya Castle was a major conflict in the northern Kantō area. Following the Meiji restoration, Utsunomiya was briefly (1871–1873) part of Utsunomiya Prefecture, which was then merged into the new Tochigi Prefecture, and became capital of the prefecture in 1884. Utsunomiya became an important garrison for the Imperial Japanese Army.
With the establishment of the municipalities system on April 1, 1889, the town of Utsunomiya was officially established. At the end of the 1889, Utsunomiya had a population of 30,698 making it the third most populous municipality in the Kantō area, after Tokyo and Yokohama. Utsunomiya was raised to city status on April 1, 1896. On July 12, 1945 much of Utsunomiya and the surrounding areas were destroyed in the American Bombing of Utsunomiya during World War II.
The city limits were expanded from 1951 to 1955 by annexing neighboring Suzumenomiya town and Hiraishi, Yokokawa, Mizuhono, Kunimoto, Shiroyama, Tomiya, Toyosato, and Sugatagawa villages and the part of Shinoi village from Kawachi District and Kiyohara village from Haga District. In 1996, Utsunomiya was designated a core city within increased autonomy. On March 31, 2007, Utsunomiya absorbed the towns of Kamikawachi and Kawachi (both from Kawachi District), pushing the population of Utsunomiya City over 500,000.
