Paradise Inn - Mount Rainier - Washington State - United States
This video includes highlights of my visit to Paradise Inn at Mount Rainier National Park in the United States. The visit was in mid-September. This video begins at Narada Falls and moves to the historic Paradise Inn. Many of the scenes are from midmorning. Later I visit Tipso Lake.
Mt. Rainier National Park - Paradise and Narada Falls
Wanting to escape the summer heat and smoky haze from the BC wildfires, on a whim we decided to drive up to Mt. Rainier National Park and camp for the night. Upon reaching the Paradise summit at 5,420' elevation, there was indeed less smoke from the fires, but even here the temperature was in the upper 80's, and it was very humid. Cougar Rock Campground, at 3,200' elevation where we tented for the night was uncomfortably hot, with the daytime temperature near 90! After we set up our tent, we discovered that in our haste we forgot to bring sleeping bags! So, we improvised. A moving blanket that we had stowed in our car kept us cozy for the night on top of our inflatable mattress. As you can see from this video, the scenery was amazing and our brief escape to Mt. Rainier National Park was well worth it!

Knapsack Pass and Spray Park, Mt Rainier National Park
This is from a day hike I did in Mt Rainier National Park in 2010. I went from Mowich lake up to Knapsack pass, then off trail to Spray park, then down to Spray falls, then came back to Mowich lake via Eagle's Roost. The music is Sleep Away by Bob Acri.

Clouds over Mt. Rainier & Reflection Lake Time-lapse
Recommended viewing in HD!
Time-lapse taken on 9-1-2013 around noon from the rim of the Reflection Lake in Mount Rainier National Park. I started the series just after a very impressive lenticular formation began to break up. Composed from nearly 2000 frames at 24fps. I apologize for the vertical orientation. I don't have a lens in my kit that could pick up the sky and the water together, yet.
