Ideálním místem, kde naleznete odpočinek a klid, je romantické pobřeží jižní Kréty. Krásná krajina plná olivových hájů, řecké vesničky s typicky ospalou atmosférou, kde jako by se zastavil čas, písečné zálivy i útesy spadající příkře do moře, to vše je typický obrázek jižního pobřeží.

Myrtos beach is one of the most famous beaches in Kefalonia, is located in the north-west of Kefalonia island, in the Ionian Sea of Greece .A steep, winding road, about 2 km in length and with hairpin turns, leads down to the beach from the village of Divarata.
It was used as the location for the mine explosion episode in the film Captain Corellias Mandolin...

Na kraju plaže se nalazi simpatična mala pećina. U filmu Mandolina kapetana Korelija jedna scena se dešava upravo na ovoj plaži.

Myrtos to Assos in Winter 2019
Hello Everyone!
As you know Greece has been having crazy weather but we luckily had an amazing clear day during this week so we headed out to the converted beauties, Myrtos beach and the fishing town Assos.
The weather is very cold at the moment so we didn't go by motor bike we are sorry to say but that didn't stop us getting some great shots!

MIRTOS ON SOUTHEASTERN CRETE IS A SMALL-SCALED PLACE
Coming to Mirtos on holiday means you'll be staying in an attractive and hospitable village by the sea. Everything wihtin easy reach and all very Cretan.
The local people like holiday visitors coming, but they just carry on doing there own thing. This makes Mirtos unique.
There are no noisy discos, but you will hear Greek music being played here and there, in bars and restaurants. Mirtos has about ten restaurants, two supermarkets, a butcher's and a bakery.
In the last couple of years a few new shops have appeared wich sell things from different countries, for example, pottery, lanterns, lamps and rugs.
MIRTOS IS HEALTHY
Mirtos has, thanks to the protection of the Dikti Mountains, a fully subtropical climate. Dry, warm and totally clean air!
For a lot of people with muscle or joint diseases, this means that their stay in Mirtos will improve their condition quite a bit (rheumatism sufferers, for example ).
The particular light of Southeast Crete is very benificial. Good for people who suffer from depression.
MIRTOS IS ACTIVE
Being healthy also means being active. There are a lots of possibilities for walks, with or without a guide. Villa Mertiza has print-outs of various walks. We also have walking guides in our book collection which you are welcome to borrow.
MIRTOS IS VERSATILE
Lots of interesting activities are possible in and around Mirtos. Swimming, relaxing and reading on the beach, for example in Mirtos and Tertsa.
Adventure tours in the mountains to small mountain villages, such as the deserted village of Kalami.
Special walks through gorges, such as the Sarakina Canyon near Mithi.
Boat tours to Crissi island, and to the leper colony on the island of Spinalonga.
Shopping in towns such as Ierapetra and Agios Nikolaos.
Visiting churches and monasteries, such as Ano Viannos and Kritsa.
Nudist can go to a beach just past the little village of Tertsa.
MIRTOS IS FOR ALL AGES, BUT NOT FOR EVERYONE
The nice thing about our village is that people of all ages enjoy being there. Singles, couples, families and seniors form a pleasant mix.
But young people looking for an exciting and noisy night life will prefer to choose a different destination.
Are you looking for a delightful atmosphere, a feeling of space, and peace and quiet in a holiday?

Myrtos Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches we have seen in Greece and there are many! Seen from the road above, the panorama offered by Myrtos beach is really stunning at every moment of the day. The turquoise colour of the water makes you realize right away you absolutely have to find your way to the white-pebble beach to experience it firsthand.
