MYSTERIOUS Road in Jeju that DEFY Gravity in Jeju South Korea
It's my first time going to Jeju Island in South Korea, and I had an amazing experience. I went to a couple of beaches and checked out the traditional Jeju markets during my time in Jeju. But something that's pretty cool, which you should definitely check out for yourself if you are ever in Jeju is the Mysterious Road! There's a small stretch of road on Jeju Island where you drive your car, and it will drive uphill by itself when you put the car in neutral! Crazy and super mysterious for sure...

The Jeju Mysterious Road, also known as Dokkaebi Road, lies on a hill at the foot of a mountain, and connects two major highways on Jejudo Island. It has earned its name, as objects and liquid appear to roll and flow up the hill instead of down, when, in fact, such image of gravity defiance is an optical illusion rendered by the seemingly high surroundings.

The road in Korea is called Ghost Road, where cars roll uphill with the engine turned off.

The Jeju Mysterious Road (Dokkaebi Road, off Highway 1139) lies on a hill at the foot of a mountain. Objects and liquid appear to roll and flow up the hill instead of down. Such 'gravity defiance' is an optical illusion rendered by the seemingly high surroundings.
In this HD Video, the SUV started rolling from a stationary position with gear @ Neutral. Initial up hill illusion was gradual, cameraman turn the view backwards & you can see the downslope behind us. He then front face the camera again & more pronounced upslope can be seen towards the end.

Mysterious Road, Jeju Island – South Korea
Salah satu obyek wisata yang terkenal di Korea Selatan adalah Pulau Jeju. Pulau Jeju adalah pulau terbesar di Korea dan terletak di bagian selatan Semenanjung Korea. Pulau Jeju dijuluki Samdado yang memiliki arti “Pulau yang Berlimpah dengan Tiga Hal, yaitu bebatuan, wanita, dan angin.
Dari berbagai macam obyek wisata yang dimiliki oleh Jeju, salah satu yang paling menarik adalah Mysterious Road (Jalan Misterius), dikenal juga dengan nama Dokkaebi Road. Mysterious Road atau Dokkaebi ini terletak di sebuah bukit di kaki gunung dan menghubungkan dua jalan raya utama di Jeju.
Pasti Anda bertanya-tanya, mengapa jalan ini dinamakan Mysterious Road? Di sini lah titik letak keunikan dari jalan ini yang katanya mengadung medan magnet besar yang mampu menggerakkan mobil atau benda apapun yang berada di atas jalan ini bisa bergerak sendiri ke atas, dalam kondisi mesinnya mati.
Untuk membuktikan hal ini, bis yang kami tumpangi berhenti di titik awal Mysterious Road, lalu dimatikan mesinnya, kunci mobil dicopot. Lalu selang 1-2 detik kemudian mobil berjalan mendaki sendiri dengan elevasi jalan tanjakan sekitar 15 derajat, saya berlari mengejar bis ini sampai pada titik akhir mysterious Road ini sepanjang +/- 100 meter.
Aneh tapi benar2 nyata adanya...

Went to South Korea last month, visited Jeju Island and our tour guide brought us to this awesome place - named Mysterious Road. Apparently, the road is going uphill, but as you can see in the video the water bottle is moving like it's going downwards.

Bí ẩn của con dốc chỉ cao 3 độ này nằm ở cảnh vật và môi trường xung quanh cao hơn, khiến lái xe có cảm giác đang lên dốc nhưng thực ra là đang xuống dốc. Những ngày nắng nóng, những ảo ảnh từ mặt đường khiến hiện tượng ảo giác này càng rõ hơn.
