Ko Samet (Cajeput Island; Thai: เกาะเสม็ด, Thai pronunciation: [kɔ̀ʔ samèt]) is one of the eastern seaboard islands of Thailand. It is in the Gulf of Thailand off the coastline of the Thai province of Rayong, approximately 220 kilometres (140 mi) southeast of Bangkok. Ko Samet is part of the Phe (Thai: เพ) Subdistrict of the Amphoe Mueang Rayong (Thai: เมืองระยอง, the capital district, or Amphoe Mueang), of Rayong Province. Ko Samet is the largest and westernmost of a cluster of islands not far from the coast. Ko Samet measures 6.8 kilometres (4.2 mi) from north to south. At its closest point to the mainland, the island is 2.6 kilometres (1.6 mi) south of mainland Rayong Province; however the actual travelling distance from the main commercial tourist pier in the town of Phe to the island's closest tourist beach is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi).
Popular with foreign tourists and as a weekend getaway for residents of nearby Bangkok, most of the island (excluding the Na Dan area) is in the Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park. In 1981, the Royal Forest Department declared the archipelago of Samet, along with nine other small islands, the headland of Khao Laem Ya, and the 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) Mae Ramphueng Beach to be a national park, and thus Ko Samet is under the protection of the National Parks Division of the Thai government.

Other popular beach among Ko Samed travelers, Ao Wong Duen beach or Malibu beach, can be reach directly by ferry from Ban Phe pier or by a taxi from Na Dan pier. There is a good range of restaurants and bars at Wong Duan beach, with rather cozy atmosphere in comparison with Sai Kaew beach or Ao Phai beach. The wide beach is blessed with crystal clear water and plenty of shady places, and beach sellers whom not give to you to die from famine, offering a food, snack, fruit and drinks, but a some of motorized water means, that here can be rather noisy within day.

Wong Duan (Duen) beach is located on the island's east coast, roughly in the middle. This beach, shaped like a crescent, with white sandy strip and clear water allows you to relax on vacation. Sit down in a lounge chair at the hotel and enjoy your holiday! Grab yourself a lovely promenade in the fine, white sand.

Koh Samet is a beautiful island at the outskirt of Bangkok. You can easily find a bus or mini van from Bangkok Bus Terminal at Ekkamai Station in Bangkok to Ban Phe (in around 200 Baht). It will take you around 3 hours to reach Ban Phe. On reaching Ban Phe, you need to take a ferry or speed boat to reach to your selected Pier. In our case, we took a ferry to Nandan Pier. The beach is very clean and the water is very blue. If you happen to stay around Nadan Pier, you will get to see happening night life and market. It is highly recommended to go to this place during the weekends.

Vom Khao Sok Natiomalpark mit dem Minibus über Surat Thani nach Khanom. In Surat Thani noch ein Ticket für die Weiterfahrt nah Khanom gekauft. Verlief alles ohne Probleme. So wie ich es von Thailand kenne. Einfach alles top. Unterkunft war das Bansonmanee Homestay. Kann ich sehr empfehlen. Der Strand war absolut traumhaft. Fast Menschenleer mit kleinen Restaurants und das unweit vom Donsak Pier wo es nach Koh Phangan und Koh Samui geht. Erholung abseits des Massentourismus.
