Naegi Castle Ruins stand on a lofty mountain on the right bank of Kiso-gawa River flowing in Nakatsugawa city.
In recent years, an observatory was built on the castle tower ruins and it provides a panoramic view of Mt.Ena, Kiso-gawa River and Nakatsugawa city.

a short adventure down the Nakasendo trail between magome and tsumago. JR train from Nagiso station to Nakatsugawa where there was an ill-conceived diversion to try and visit Naegi castle ruins before the sunset. Finally, JR station from Nakatsuagawa to Tokyo to close out the day

Magome Juku is located near the border between Gifu and Nagano prefecture in central Japan. It was one of the 69 stations of Nakasendo, an ancient road between Kyoto and Edo(Tokyo) in Edo Period, and it has a special atmosphere of old Japan, as you can see in this video.
Because Magome is a quite small area, you can also go to Tsumago(妻籠), Naegi Castle Ruins(苗木城跡) and so on, which are near Magome.
