Nagahama Castle atau dalam bahasa Jepang disebut 長浜城 Nagahama Jou berada di utara Prefektur Shiga yang langsung berhadapan dengan Danau Biwa. Apa yang istimewa dari kastil ini? Kastil ini adalah awal dari kesuksesan Hideyoshi, salah satu tokoh penting dalam sejarah Jepang.

Chikubushima and Nagahama - Shiga, Japan 2.1 - 6.13.16
This is my first video from my second trip to Shiga, Japan.
Some of my friends and I went to the Northeast side of Lake Biwa to visit Chikubu island (Chikubushima) and the City of Nagahama. Chikubushima is the second largest island in Lake Biwa and is home to many historical temples (the oldest is about 1,300 years old).
After we rode the Biwako-Kisen boat back to Nagahama, we visited the Kurokabe glass factory in Kurokabe square and got to create our own designs to sandblast onto glass. We also visited the Kaiyodo figure museum.

A Half Day Walking Tour along Old Hokkoku Street in Central Nagahama, Shiga Pref. (长滨市内半天游览沿旧北国街道)
The half day course (approx., 4 hours), in which sightseers can admire the retro-inspired atmosphere in the old castle town. Since Nagahama faces Lake Biwa and was located at a strategically important place, people here like the people in the Andos, boosted up their power in industry and commerce with the aid of Hideyoshi’s policy of remitting agricultural taxes. (The Andos used to be one of the dominant townsmen.) That gorgeous Hikiyama festival, which was registered UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016, has been maintained with the people’s enthusiasm.
Guests can also enjoy the modern craftworks of elaborate plastic models at the Kaiyodo Figure Museum along the old Hokkoku-kaido road.

Yume Kyobashi Castle Road is a road just outside Hikone Castle's outer moat. It has been recently redesigned in a style combining the look and atmosphere of a former castle town with a pleasant, modern shopping street.
The buildings along the road have been designed like town houses from the Edo Period with white walls blackened roofs and lattice doors in order to achieve the castle town look. Various restaurants, boutiques, souvenir shops and cafes line the street, which makes for a pleasant stroll after a visit to the castle.
Hours: Varies by shop. Most are open between 10:00 and 17:30.
Closed: Varies by shop, but many shops are closed on Tuesdays.

Hou Kouen (豊公園) Park in Mid-Spring (Nagahama city, Shiga Pref., Japan)
My hometown is somewhere of north area of Shiga prefecture (滋賀県) in Japan, the name of which is Nagahama (長浜市). Nagahama is well known as the first place where Hideyoshi Hashiba (羽柴 秀吉), previous name of Hideyoshi Toyotomi (豊臣 秀吉), who was one of the heroes in the age of provincial wars of Japan (戦国時代), built the first castle of his own. It was in 1573 AD. (Sorry, I mistakenly said in the narration it was in 1873, but I was wrong.) The cite of the castle became a city park of Hou Kouen (豊公園), named after the Tycoon. I was able to have a chance again to walk around the park in cherry blossoms on an extremely fine day in this week, April, 05, 2013.
