Sri Vedanarayana Temple or Matsya Narayana Temple is a Hindu-Vaishnavite temple situated at Nagalapuram town in Chittoor District, of Andhra Pradesh state, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the form of Matsya(fish) avatar and is referred to as Matsya Narayana or Veda Narayana. This is one of the few temples in India where Vishnu is depicted in Matsya avatar, the first incarnation of Dashavatara.
The temple is being administered by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
The Temple is famous for Surya Pooja Utsavam,considered as an astronomical marvel. During this festival the sunrays will directly fall on the presiding deity Vedanarayaana in the Garbhagriha for three days of a year. The Sunrays travel a distance of 360 feet starting from Temple Tower(Goupuram) towards Garbha griha in the evening. On first day the rays will stop at foot of the Deity, second day on Navel and third day on Crown.
Surya Pooja Utsavam is one of the important festivals in the temple during which the rays of Sun directly fall on to the presiding deity in Garbhagriha which is facing west during evening before sunset.
Chittoor is a city and district headquarters in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is also the mandal and divisional headquarters of Chittoor mandal and Chittoor revenue division, respectively. The city has a population of 153,756 and that of the agglomeration is 175,647.

Nagalapuram Falls Banned and Disappointment in Kailasa Kona Falls

Nagalapuram is a village in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Nagalapuram mandal.This town is home to Vedanarayana Temple, where the presiding deity Vishnu is in the form of Matsya, the first incarnation of Dasavatara.
Nagalapuram Falls is a waterfall which attracts many tourists. It offers a great trekking opportunity as you go into the forest in the Eastern Ghats. The trek is very scenic and one can see streams along the trek route. There are 3 waterfalls you come across and each of them has a pool next to it. The water is very clean and refreshing.
Trekkers can visit the trekking route which is about 4 KM in length and offers majestic views of three waterfalls with pristine waters. Parking facility is available at the beginning of the trek with reasonable charges. Due to its proximity to Chennai, large numbers of people visit the waterfalls each year and this has started taking a toll on the environment around the trek which is now heavily littered with waste left by trekkers.
The third waterfall, which is last in the series, has a deep pool which should not be explored without adequate saftey equipments such as life jackets and due to negligence this has resulted in several drownings at this pool.
Aare – Nagalapuram falls BANNED temporarily
15th September 2018: Siddhalaiah Kona falls commonly known as AARE falls is temporarily banned from 02-September 2018 due to frequent deaths and accidents. All Trekking, Hiking, Camping and visits to falls is Banned. The forest officials has restricted entry into falls for public. Anyone trespassing will be prosecuted under law.
According to the latest information from the Forest officials two young men from Chennai are dead in the deep waters of Aare falls on 2nd September 2018. Forest officials and the government has planned to construct Fencing over the 2nd falls. Hereon only 1st and 2nd falls will be permitted for the public. 3rd 4th and 5th falls are permanently banned.
