Jompet Kuswidananto merupakan lulusan Fisipol UGM, Yogyakarta. Sejak tahun 1998, ia bekerja bersama Teater Garasi, kolektif seniman multidisiplin dengan karya yang mencerminkan kehidupan Indonesia setelah jatuhnya rezim Soeharto. Ia menjelajahi sejarah Indonesia dan kompleksitas kehidupan kontemporer di dunia global menggunakan instalasi, video, suara, pertunjukan, dan teater. Praktiknya memiliki fokus pada isu-isu politik, kolonialisme, kekuasaan dan mobilisasi massa dalam konteks Indonesia pasca-reformasi.
Beberapa pameran tunggalnya antara lain “On Paradise” di Musée des Arts Contemporains Grand-Hornu - Belgium (2017); “After Voices” di Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation - Sydney (2016); “Order and After” di Govanhill Baths - Glasgow (2015); dan “Grand Parade” di Tropenmuseum - Amsterdam (2014). Jompet Kuswidananto graduated from Gajah Faculty of Social and Political Science in Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. Since 1998, he has worked with Teater Garasi, a multidisciplinary collective of artists presenting shows that reflect Indonesian life after the fall of the Suharto regime. He explores Indonesia’s history and the complexities of contemporary life in a globalized world using installation, video, sound, performance and theatre. His practice focuses on issues of politics, colonialism, power and mass mobilization in the context of post-reformation Indonesia.
Among his solo shows are “On Paradise” at Musée des Arts Contemporains Grand-Hornu - Belgium (2017); “After Voices” at Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation - Sydney (2016); “Order and After” at Govanhill Baths - Glasgow (2015); and “Grand Parade” at Tropenmuseum - Amsterdam (2014). Sogo Koen park (総合公園) in Urayasu City, Chiba, Japan
This gorgeous seaside park adjacent to Tokyo Bay was a nice find, while out on my bicycle one day. The best part was the HUGE open field right by the water's edge (about the size of at least 2 football fields), great for playing ball, flying kites, and tossing the frisbee. They also have a day camp area where you can have a BBQ cookout.

Japanese road with beautiful sky. Seto-Shi to Owariasahi-Shi drive
The sky was so beautiful that I had to record it. The video resolution ended up being decent. Forgive the squeaky clutch, I have an old vehicle.
The drive is about 4 kms, and goes from Seto-shi, (shi means town) an historical small town know for its pottery, to Owariasahi-shi, another small town. Both are next to Nagoya, a large city in central Japan.
Please do let me know if there is a particular place or thing you would like to see in/about Japan.

Riding a Rapid Express Train (特急） in Chiba Prefecture （千葉県）, Japan
I took this video, riding a rapid express train （特急） in Japan. This train is Joban Sen (means Joban Line) going from Ueno to Narita. This ride is taken standing right next to the train engineer's cabin. I like trains and specially riding trains in Japan, there is something extremely mesmerizing about this video. When I watch it I feel like I am actually riding the train. Enjoy
