The craziness of Japanese militarists during WWII incurred the dropping of two atomic bombs on its land in August, 1945.
Fat Man was the second and the last atomic bomb put into practical use in history.

The first nuclear weapon to be dropped on humans was the Little Boy atomic bomb, dropped on Hiroshima, Japan during World War II. The destruction caused killed thousands of people, injured many more, and caused long-lasting effects such as cancer and birth defects.

Japan gives SA a tree that survived the Hiroshima atomic bomb
Japan has gifted South Africa a sapling from a tree that survived the 1945 atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima. The Gingko Survivor Tree is a symbol of peace, hope, and friendship. It was planted in the arboretum of the Afrikaanse Taal Museum and Monument in Paarl this afternoon as part of the launch of the One World Festival.
