Volcano Sakurajima & relaxing sounds of ocean waves (17 April 2015)
I took the video of the volcano Sakurajima from Aira City, Kagoshima, Japan.
The volcano's shape is different according to the place you watch it.
Gentle sound of waves relax you!
(Aira City)
Aira City is located at the north of Kagoshima City.
You can see the biggest Japanese camphor trees at the city.
The tree is the symbol of Aira City!
The city is full of wonderful nature.
I also love to eat Aira Manju.
It is a bun with a bean‐jam filling.
It is sweet and especially delicious with a cup of green tea!
Unlike other Japanese buns, you can hardly find Aira buns at huge department stores.
You can only find them at small local shops.
You can also get the taste of the Aira Manju at the Sakurajima Service Area (Kyushu Highway).
I keep watching Sakurajima everyday!
I would be appreciated if you subscribe to my channel.

Under the foot of this active volcano, many famous people have changed the history of Japan. Those people include Mt. Takamori Saito, Mr. Toshimichi Okubo, Mr. Tatewaki Komatsu, Princess Atsu-Hime and Lord Nariakira Shimazu.
(Where is Sakurajima?)
Sakurajima is located in the center of Kagoshima.

You can have go to the Yunoura Observatory Platform. It is the 5th station of Sakurajima
(Life in Kagoshima with Sakurajima)
Kagoshima City is very closed to the Sakurajima.
Are city people safe in such a close distance from the active volcano?
If the wind flows from east, volcanic ashes fall on Kagoshima City.
The ash causes my eyes ache. I cannot go out without a mask covering my mouth.
I cannot wash my hair easily due to ash.
If ash is much amount, it is hard to drive a car because you cannot see in front of you. If wiper moves fast, it can damages windshield of the car. Please be careful!
Many Japanese children made the sandy mountain with my friends, but I collected ash at the garden and made many ASH mountains in my childfood
(History of the Island)
The most powerful eruption happened in 1914.
Sakurajima was an island, but the much lava sprang up at the time and the Sakurajima was connected to the Osumi Peninsula.
Much ashes fell on Kagoshima City and the sky was not visible for several days.
There is Kurokami Shrine on Sakurajima. The eruption buried an half part of the shrine gate with ash.

This shrine is 30 minutes away from Kirishima Jingu Shrine.
There are less tourists than in Kirishima Jungu, but you can enjoy more traditional Japanese atmosphere at this Kirishima-Higashi Shrine.
This shrine worships the same God as Kirishima Shrine.
The name of the God is Ninigi-no-Mikoto, or the founder of Japan.

Sakurajima, Japan - Sakurajima Island Volcano Tour (2019)
Sakurajima (Japanese: 桜島, literally Cherry blossom Island) is an active composite volcano, formerly an island and now a peninsula, in Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan. The lava flows of the 1914 eruption connected it with the Ōsumi Peninsula. It is the most active volcano in Japan.
The volcanic activity still continues, dropping volcanic ash on the surroundings which continues as of March 2019. Earlier eruptions built the white sand highlands in the region. The most recent eruption started on May 2, 2017. On September 13, 2016 a team of experts from Bristol University and the Sakurajima Volcano Research Centre in Japan suggested that the volcano could have a major eruption within 30 years.
Sakurajima is a stratovolcano. Its summit has three peaks, Kita-dake (northern peak), Naka-dake (central peak) and Minami-dake (southern peak) which is active now.
Kita-dake is Sakurajima's highest peak, rising to 1,117 m (3,665 ft) above sea level. The mountain is in a part of Kagoshima Bay known as Kinkō-wan. The former island is part of the city of Kagoshima. The surface of this volcanic peninsula is about 77 km2 (30 sq mi).
Kagoshima (鹿児島市 Kagoshima-shi, Japanese: [ka̠ɡo̞ɕima̠]) is the capital city of Kagoshima Prefecture at the south western tip of the island of Kyushu in Japan, and the largest city in the prefecture by some margin. It has been nicknamed the Naples of the Eastern world for its bay location (Aira Caldera), hot climate, and emblematic stratovolcano, Sakurajima. The city was officially founded on April 1, 1889.

It is cloudy today, but I can see the shape of Sakurajima very clearly.
Sakurajima erupted at 01:07 this morning. It was the 369th eruption in this year. I think the number of eruptions will be over 1,000 this year!
It is getting warm in Kagoshima.
There will be many sunny days in May.
I am going to drive around Sakurajima in May. It will be fantastic!
I keep watching Sakurajima everyday!
