Doin' it up on the playground zipline!! This is in Nago, a beautiful town in the northern part of Okinawa.
Dino Park in Okashigoten Nago branch
The 50 some dinosaurs in the Dino Park are scattered across the jungle-like forest giving the place a definite feeling of a Jurassic Park movie. Most of the dinos at the park move, and hiss and growl, too, making them very realistic!
Schools for Mariko M Kyan and Kinaka, Uruma, Okinawa May 17, 2019
I was reviewing my notes to make sure that I had not missed something that I want to do before I leave. Glad I did. I had scratched off an obscure note about one of my Walk Okinawa walks - Mariko M had asked me several months ago that if I should ever be in Uruma to please look up her old elementary and high schools. I told her that I would - and I almost didn't! I left the house, drove to Uruma and walked the walk!

Japanese Naval Underground Headquarters from World War 2 | Okinawa, Japan
In today's vlog, The Lovelys visit the Japanese Naval Underground Headquarters from World War II. The Japanese Naval Underground was 450 meters of tunnels that were built by the Japanese Navy Corps of Engineers. It was meant to outlast aerial bombardment and shelter 4,000 troops. Today, the underground headquarters stands as a testament to the horrors of war and fanaticism. It is hard to imagine that two stalwart allies like the U.S. and Japan fought and died there on opposite sides.

Okinawa Karate Museum (Nishihara, Okinawa)
Guide: Dr. Tetsuhiro Hokama
沖縄県空手博物館 (沖縄県西原町)
案内: 外間哲弘 館長
Okinawa Karate Museum was founded in Yonagusuku, Nishihara town in January 11th, 1987. It was the first museum for karate and kobudo. I started to collect karate related material when I was at a university. The reason why I
decided to do so is because when I was to write a treatise of karate, I couldn't find enough material. People from all over the world have visited this museum.
More than 300 materials are gathered at this museum.
-- Hi. Thank you for hosting today.
Dr. Hokama: Thank you for coming.
There are a plentiful photo collection of great karate masters. There are some calligraphies of them, too. Here are kobudo weapons. This diagram shows vital spots of human body. Visitors are coming from all over the world. Some
of them left their badges and stickers here for memory. When asked, I sometimes take people on tour to guide karate related sites in Okinawa. I do calligraphy when people want me to. I calligraph the teaching quotation such as Karate ni sente nashi (There is no first strike in karate.)Back in the days, Kanpo (Chinese herbology) took essential role in medical treatment. Kanpo is a part of history of karate. Those equipments are for tanren (karate training). They are for strengthen hands, fingers, feet and legs.
Since karate was developed in Okinawa, one can see abandoned materials of karate on this island. Materials such as great masters' birthplaces,
their gravesites and monuments, so on... In my opinion, Okinawa itself is a karate museum with materials inside and outside of this building altogether.
