Nagoya Omotenashi Busho-tai(Nagoya Samurai Greeters)are local actors group to represent the appealing culture of Nagoya area and provide warm welcome to the tourists worldwide.Famous 6 samurais and 4 fellows born in,or related to the area came back alive at Nagoya,the sacred place of samurais. They are at the Nagoya Castle everyday, and perform a dance show on holidays and weekends.In addition, they have made their CD debut, have performed on event stages in foreign countries. In 2010 they helped to increase tourist revenue in Nagoya by 2700 million yen.
Because of this, it even became a social phenomenon – and 40-50 similar groups have been created all over Japan!

NAGOYA CASTLE INFO:
Nagoya Castle was constructed on the orders of Ieyasu TOKUGAWA in order to secure an important position on the Tokaido road and to ward off attacks from the direction of Osaka. Construction was completed in 1612, and the castle is typical of those built on flatlands. Until the Meiji Restoration, Nagoya Castle flourished as the castle in which the Owari lineage of the Tokugawa family, the foremost of the family’s three lineages, resided.
In May 1945, during the air raids on Nagoya in the Second World War, most of the buildings including the main and small donjons, and the Hommaru Palace, were burned down. Fortunately, however, three corner towers, three gates, and most of the paintings on the sliding doors and walls in the Hommaru Palace survived the fire, and have been handed down as Important Cultural Assets.

The Nagoya Castle Omotenashi Bushotai & Ninja tai is a revival of the 6 Bushos( Army Generals) & Jingasa soldiers who played important roles in the history of Japan during the Edo period way back 400 years ago. These Samurai's & Ninjas welcomes visitors in the Nagoya Castle and perform shows on weekends & holidays.
