Nagytétény / Száraz-Rudnyánszky Palace - Hungary
One of the finest monuments of Baroque architecture in Hungary, the former Száraz-Rudnyánszky Palace was designed by András Mayerhoffer and built by Baron József Rudnyánszky (spouse: Julianna Száraz) between 1743 and 1751 on the place of a Roman villa rustica and using an earlier palace that stood here. The Száraz-Rudnyánszky Palace was built in the so-called Grassalkovich Style. The original Gothic palace was built in the 13th century for the Tétény family that was related to the Árpád Dynasty

Budapest:
The neo-Gothic Parliament, the biggest building in Hungary with its 268 metres (879 ft) length, containing amongst other things the Hungarian Crown Jewels. Saint Stephen's Basilica, where the Holy Right Hand of the founder of Hungary, King Saint Stephen is on display. The Hungarian cuisine and café culture: for example, Gerbeaud Café, and the Százéves, Biarritz, Fortuna, Alabárdos, Arany Szarvas, Kárpátia and the world-famous Mátyás Pince Restaurants. There are Roman remains at the Aquincum Museum, and historic furniture at the Nagytétény Castle Museum, just 2 out of 223 museums in Budapest. Another historical museum is the House of Terror, hosted in the building that was the venue of the Nazi Headquarters. The Castle Hill, the River Danube embankments and the whole of Andrássy út have been officially recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Castle Hill and the Castle District; there are three churches here, six museums, and a host of interesting buildings, streets and squares. The former Royal Palace is one of the symbols of Hungary – and has been the scene of battles and wars ever since the 13th century. Nowadays it houses two impressive museums and the National Széchenyi Library. The nearby Sándor Palace contains the offices and official residence of the President of Hungary. The seven-hundred-year-old Matthias Church is one of the jewels of Budapest, it is in neo-Gothic style, decorated with coloured shingles and elegant pinnacles. Next to it is an equestrian statue of the first king of Hungary, King Saint Stephen, and behind that is the Fisherman's Bastion, built in 1905 by the architect Frigyes Schulek, the Fishermen's Bastions owes its name to the namesake corporation that during the Middle Ages was responsible of the defence of this part of ramparts, from where opens out a panoramic view of the whole city. Statues of the Turul, the mythical guardian bird of Hungary, can be found in both the Castle District and the Twelfth District.
In Pest, arguably the most important sight is Andrássy út. This Avenue is an elegant 2.5 kilometres (2 miles) long tree-lined street that covers the distance from Deák Ferenc tér to the Heroes Square. On this Avenue overlook many important sites. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As far as Kodály körönd and Oktogon both sides are lined with large shops and flats built close together. Between there and Heroes' Square the houses are detached and altogether grander. Under the whole runs continental Europe's oldest Underground railway, most of whose stations retain their original appearance. Heroes' Square is dominated by the Millenary Monument, with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front. To the sides are the Museum of Fine Arts and the Kunsthalle Budapest, and behind City Park opens out, with Vajdahunyad Castle. One of the jewels of Andrássy út is the Hungarian State Opera House. Statue Park, a theme park with striking statues of the Communist era, is located just outside the main city and is accessible by public transport.

Martonvásár - Brunszvik / Habsburg - Dreher Castle - Beethoven Museum
This castle, built in 1785, was for many years the family seat of Count Antal Brunswick. It is said that one of his children, Ferenc, became friends with Beethoven, to such an extent that he was one of the rare people to be able to use the familiar you form with the master. In the castle, the Beethoven Emlékmúzeum provides a reminder of the composer's stays in the house. Restored in 1870, the castle is today neo-Gothic in style. Every summer, concerts are held in the castle grounds on the island in the middle of the lake.
Hungary’s only Beethoven Memorial Museum created in the castle presents Beethoven’s correspondence with the female members of the Brunszvik family and also documents connected to the lives of the artist and the family.
Nadasdy Castle - Tudor / Romantic - Nádasdladány, Hungary
The Nádasdy Castle is the only romantic castle in Hungary built in Tudor Style. Famous craftsmen of the time decorated it with wrought-iron chandeliers, carved furniture, and tinted-glass windows and equipped it with the most modern appliances.
The castle was equipped with the most modern appliances of the time. Comfort was assured by air heating, gas and later electric lighting, a network of communicating tubes, a sewage system and an underground food transportation system. It had a library and its own chapel at the disposal of the family. Probably the most prominent room of the castle is the gallery of family portraits, the Hall of Ancestors. The full-length paintings of predecessors were kept here and the splendid ornamentation of the room can be admired even today.
The estate was surrounded with a scenic park, artificial pond, waterfall and water-tower. The palm-garden and the pheasant nursery was a real curiosity.
According to legend it was the Nádasdy family who helped King Béla IV when he was hiding from the Tatars amongst the reeds, feeding him with wild-ducks. Only they knew where the hiding-place was and this explains the appearance of the wild-duck motive on their coat of arms.

One of the outstanding baroque buildings of Hungary is the Száraz-Rudnyánszky mansion. The building burnt out in 1904, and its original furnishing was destroyed. During the World War II the mansion suffered serious damages again. After 1945 the ex-owner Géza Dáni's idea of holding exhibitions of applied arts in the building was shared by the leader of the Museum of Applied Arts, Pál Voit. In 1948 the Ministry of Agriculture (in control of the area) gave the mansion over for museologic purposes. Renovation works began in 1951. Because of the worsening of the conditions of the building the castle museum had to shut down in 1990. It was in the summer of the year 2000 that the museum again opened its gates to the general public on the occasion of a furniture exhibition held to celebrate the millennium.
Henrik Haggenmacher Sr. a prominent Hungarian industrialist born in Switzerland, bought the Frohner family’s brewery in 1867. In keeping up with demand, by 1875 the Haggenmacher brewery had already grown to be second largest producer in Hungary, after Antal Dreher’s brewery in Kőbánya. World War I heavily affected the Hungarian industry, and a merge between the three largest breweries took place in 1933, combining the Dreher brewery, Haggenmacher brewery and the First Hungarian Stock-limited brewery. Within years, production was centralized at the Stock-limited Brewery in Kőbánya, and the Haggenmacher premises became a storage facility. Haggenmacher Courtyard Ltd. acquired parts of the run-down brewery and its buildings in 2004 and began the real-estate development with the rehabilitation of the factory premises and step-by-step restoration of one of the main buildings. This led to the birth of the international contemporary art center named art quarter budapest.
The Statue Park is“.. a unique collection of the monuments of a fallen totalitarian system, characterized by true architectural design, artistic and elegant communication between the de-legitimized statues and space and by the dignity of expression.” - Géza Boros, art historian
Budapest’s latest water tower, the Budafok water tower. No similar works have been done for over 30 years. The water tower built on the Kamaraerdő plateau can hold up to 3 million litres of water, it is 42 metre high and has a 700 meter long supply and drain line. The water tower with its asymmetric shape, elegant and dynamic architectural solutions, and with its environmentally adaptive appearance is unique even globally and continues the best traditions of Budapest’s water tower architecture.

GOLDENROACH / MŰCSARNOK-KUNSTHALLE, BUDAPEST
In what is a surprise domestic stage in visual artist kissmiklos's action series, M0, Műcsarnok's project gallery gives home to the installation entitled Goldenroach Unlimited.
The exhibition-goers of other countries have had a chance to encounter the insects of the Goldenroach project, which Kiss smuggled into prestigious exhibition halls across Europe, since 2011. The artist also made certain to fit the insects that found their ways into the MuMoK (Vienna), the Saatchi Gallery and the Tate Modern (London), the Louvre and the Centre George Pompidou (Paris), or the Hamburger Bahnhof (Berlin), with display labels that matched the look of the current exhibit, making the uninvited guests part of the displays. Later he would plant, in a similar manner, his goldenroach-based souvenirs in the museum gift shops.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles and Chief Rabbi Róbert Frölich in the Dohány Street Synagogue, the largest synagogue in Europe
Statue Park, a theme park with striking statues of the Communist era, is located just outside the main city and is accessible by public transport.
The Dohány Street Synagogue is the largest synagogue in Europe, and the second largest active synagogue in the world. The synagogue is located in the Jewish district taking up several blocks in central Budapest bordered by Király utca, Wesselényi utca, Grand Boulevard and Bajcsy Zsilinszky road. It was built in moorish revival style in 1859 and has a seating capacity of 3,000. Adjacent to it is a sculpture reproducing a weeping willow tree in steel to commemorate the Hungarian victims of the Holocaust.
The city is also home to the largest medicinal bath in Europe (Széchenyi Medicinal Bath) and the third largest Parliament building in the world, once the largest in the world. Other attractions are the bridges of the capital. Seven bridges provide crossings over the Danube, and from north to south are: the Árpád Bridge (built in 1950 at the north of Margaret Island); the Margaret Bridge (built in 1901, destroyed during the war by an explosion and then rebuilt in 1948); the Chain Bridge (built in 1849, destroyed during World War II and the rebuilt in 1949); the Elisabeth Bridge (completed in 1903 and dedicated to the murdered Queen Elisabeth, it was destroyed by the Germans during the war and replaced with a new bridge in 1964); the Liberty Bridge ,the Petőfi Bridge (completed in 1937, destroyed during the war and rebuilt in 1952); the Rákóczi Bridge . Most remarkable for their beauty are the Margaret Bridge, the Chain Bridge and the Liberty Bridge. The world's largest panorama photograph was created in Budapest in 2010.
