Places To Go | Nairobi gallery
Right now The Nairobi Gallery is showcasing The Murumbi African Heritage Collection. Which is a collection made up of African Jewelry, Textiles, Artifacts, and even some personal belongings from Joseph and Sheila Murumbi's home. If you ever have a free Saturday I'd really recommend going to check out all the collections and Point Zero cafe.

Shujaa Stories Exhibition Walkthrough - Nairobi National Museum (Creativity Gallery)
A Digital Superhero Journey Through over 400 Years of Kenya's History
The Shujaa Stories Exhibition is a traveling exhibition that was launched on 9th Nov, 2018, at the Creativity Gallery, Nairobi National Museum. It is a digital art exhibition that takes the viewers through a journey of over 400 years of our pre-colonial period heroes.
We set the time scale to Kenya before 1920s since we believe that not many of us are well versed with what happened in our country before colonialism and who our leaders were before then. In some of the communities we go back all the way to the 1450s and we embark on an elaborate path through the various trials and tribulations that these leaders faced during their lifetime.
The exhibition has been tailored to have a greater impact to the younger generation as the artwork is set to portray the leaders in a magical and superhero way: a method that resonates well with them and their current interests in the digital media world.
The exhibition has been put up in partnership with the National Museums of Kenya (through its various departments), Nature Kenya and Tatu Creatives Ltd. The exhibition will come to an end on February 28th, 2019. However, the Shujaa Stories project shall continue in terms of various programs involving the youth among other events. An example of such events is the Shujaa Stories Instameet Warrior Edition event held on Dec 8th, 2018, that attracted 81 photographers and models.

Arts Scene in Kenya
Kenya's art scene is more vibrant than ever. From pop-up exhibitions to old galleries getting a face-lift to create more opportunities for local artists. The art industry is also attracting more local buyers. Investors hope that in a few years the sector will contribute significantly to the economy.

The GoDown Arts Centre - Nairobi
In the late 1990’s, The GoDown grew from the need for Kenyan and East African artists to come together in a mutually supportive space. Places for creative production were scarce, exhibition venues even more so.
Today, the GoDown is Kenya’s leading platform for cultural exchange and we are working on designing a new arts centre in close collaboration with local enthusiasts, artists, entrepreneurs and stakeholders.
The vision is for the new GoDown Arts Centre to be a vibrant space for culture, and living room for all Nairobians, Kenyans and guests.

Nairobi Matatus go Bang bang you're mine (Matatu gallery remix) - bang to the party
Bang bang you're mine (Kid's bump remix) - bang to the party
This is the side b version. I didn't see a lot of it on you tube. I like this better than the vocal dub mix.
This sounds more like the instrumental but with some amazing snare drums and keyboards!
This was the version popularly played in Kenya clubs back in the early 90's. You some pics from back then in the video. And those rides you see are the world famous MATATUS. aka mobile clubs. Young Kenyans in Nairobi got a taste of hip hop by riding in these rides the equivalent of public transportation like the subway. These rides got their music straight from the clubs in Nairobi and the Dj's got their music straight out of tower records from returning Air hostesses or pilots flying out weekly. We came a long way!
