Nals Margreid - Chardonnay Riserva Baron Salvadori 2013 - Südtirol / Alto Adige
Nals Margreid - Chardonnay Riserva Baron Salvadori 2013 - Südtirol / Alto Adige tasted 100% blind by the Best Sommelier of the World, Andreas Larsson.
Bright, quite youthful, with medium deep straw nuance. Fresh nose. Needs some air to open up. I don’t pick up any oak here. This is rather on the fruity and mineral side. There is a hint of stoniness, with discreet fruit such as citrus, melon and pear. With a slight hint of fresh butter. Good grip on the palate. I think this is showing more intensity on the taste than on the nose. Yeah it has a good grip. I would say medium bodied and it has plenty of intensity, flavour wise. Quite lingering and layered. good mineral mouth-watering sensation. Very dry as well, no residual sugar to talk about. Attractive young fruit, such as pear and melon. With an addition of some lemon zest. Quite long on the finish. It keeps lingering with a slight nuttiness and fresh almond. So a very gastronomic style. It drinks really well now and should keep for the coming years.

- 90 Punkte

- Wein des Monats Februar
Nals Margreid Chardonnay Baron Salvadori DOC 2011:
This Chardonnay is bright straw yellow in colour. In the nose a crystal clear bouquet with flavours of lemon, grapefruit, bread crust, honeydew and stone minerality. On the palate yellow fruits and bread crust in the foreground as well as stone minerality in the background, sustained by good tannins and well-integrated acidity. Medium to full bodied, very well balanced and a long aftertaste. Good buy! Drink: 2014-2024.
Rating: 90 points.
Nals Margreid Chardonnay Baron Salvadori DOC 2011:

Crisp, Green Fruit, Freshness
Youthful appearance with a light to medium deep straw colour, good brightness. Very youthful on the nose. Fresh and vibrant. Mostly with the youthful green aromas. There are some herbal notes there. Some fresh herbs with lemon and lime. More on the green fruity side; like gooseberry, kiwi, fresh pear. No indication of oak. Good bite on the palate. Light toward more medium, more medium than light-bodied I would say. Good distinct freshness. Youthful and crispy fruit. There is a nice freshness. Good extract as well. It keeps lingering a bit on the finish, which is quite long. Youthful and attractive with a good drinkability now. It should keep in the coming few years.
