NAMIREMBE CATHEDRAL:
St. Paul’s Cathedral also known as Namirembe Cathedral is Uganda's oldest cathedral. The brick red Anglican Cathedral with an impressive dome was built on Namirembe Hill/ Mengo in 1890. Since the cathedral is located on the top of a hill, it is visible from much of Kampala city. It is the most beautiful of Kampala’s Christian cathedrals.

Saint Paul's Cathedral, Namirembe
Also commonly referred to as Namirembe Cathedral, is the oldest cathedral in Uganda. The current St. Paul's Cathedral was constructed between 1915 and 1919 using earthen bricks and earthen roof tiles. It is located on Namirembe Hill, in Lubaga Division, in Kampala, Uganda.
The church, is the main Anglican place of worship in Uganda since Bishop Alfred Tucker established the offices of the Diocese of Eastern Equatorial Africa in 1890 and serves as the provincial cathedral of the Church of Uganda and the diocesan cathedral for Namirembe Diocese, the first diocese to be founded in the Church of Uganda province, in 1890..
Inside this church, are the remains of Bishop Hannington who was murdered in October 1885.
Njagala mbe mu abo by St. Cecilia Lubaga Cathedral Choir - Kampala Uganda
Njagala mbe mu abo is a Luganda Gospel song meaning I want to be counted among those who will sit at the right hand of God on judgement day. Luganda is a Bantu language spoken in central Uganda in East Africa. Much of the Gospel music used in praise and worship in Churches is in this languange widely spoken in Uganda.
In the song the choristers of St. Cecilia Lubaga Cathedral Choir try to imagine the moment when each of them meets God and is counted among the Blessed one's in Heaven.
ABOUT THE CHOIR: Founded in 1924, St. Cecilia Lubaga Cathedral Choir is the major and eldest choir in Uganda and in the Archdiocese of Kampala.
It is made up of 120 members including youths, men and women. They are all volunteers who leave their private businesses to serve the Lord. They compose and perform music during all liturgical gatherings.
Membership for new choristers is open to all people who love music and wish to offer their time for the greater Glory of God's name.
On their own, the choristers would not evangelise through sacred melodies if it were not for the diligent moral, financial, spiritual and various forms of support and contributions.
