I love learning about other cultures and religions, and this shot left to Nan Hua temple in Bronkhorstspruit allowed me to do just that! This is the largest Bhuddist temple in the Africa, and while I don't practise the religion myself, it really was a marvel to see. They host meditation retreats, and offer accommodation as well if you are keen to make it a weekend experience. If you're just in for the day, you can tour around the temple, and go to the restaurant and curio shop as well. There's a museum where you can learn more about the Bhuddist way of life. Nan Hua is the name of the South African branch for the Humanistic Buddhist order, Fo Guang Shan, who has made it their mission to spread Humanistic Buddhism to all the continents on Earth. Nan Hua acts as the central religious and administrative office for all Fo Guang Shan branches in Africa, which include temples and centres throughout South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania and Congo.

Lunar New Year 2018 at Nan Hua Temple
Marking the beginning of the Year of the Dog at Nan Hua Temple in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng. On Sunday 18 February thousands of people attended the Chinese New Year celebrations at the temple which included lion and dragon dance performances.

青年民俗文化體驗在南華
南華寺的青年文化才藝營於6月24日如期開營。來自多個城市的佛光青年都帶著興奮暨期待的心情來參加為期四天的活動。
帶著對其他陌生佛光青年的些許不安以及對新朋友的期待，每個青年們都投身於由青年幹部們所設計的破冰遊戲中。隨著每個人臉上的笑容漸漸增多，漸漸的大家就很快的打成一片了。
此次營隊宗旨是讓遠離故鄉的青年們可以在這短短幾天學習和認識到中華傳統文化的魅力。此次文化才藝學習之旅分為民俗體育和民俗舞蹈兩個部分，雖然因為要在短暫的兩天內完成民俗舞蹈和體育節目的編排而導致了訓練強度較大，但是各位青年也都樂在其中，並最終在不懈的努力下於最後一日成果展中表現亮麗，充份的展現出他們所排練的成果。我們希望通過這些活動讓各位佛光青年們認識到努力是成功不可取代的一環。
在刻苦訓練民俗文化之餘，策劃組也安排了許多趣味橫生的活動以及意義深刻的課程。由資深佛光青年李肇銘前團長擔任主講的“不同凡想”傳達了一種敢於挑戰墨守陳規的生活態度，以及保持好奇心和追逐夢想的重要性；慧行法師在他的課中指出了環保與心保之間的聯繫與重要性，各位青年也通過自己的畫筆展現出他們心目中的理想世界。
充實的時間如白駒過隙般飛過，青年營也終於在各位青年的歡聲笑語下落下了帷幕，兒童才藝營的準備也隨之開始，各位青年也都選擇留下來積極的為兒童營準備。

I visited the Nan Hua Temple as part of a Photography meetup in Bronkhorstspruit. It's really a little village as it takes up an entire suburb.
I then did a little detour to Oscar Pistorius's former home which is in an Private estate.

A nice place to go on a Sunday drive to the Buddhist Temple near Bronkhorstspruit, the Fo Guang Shan Nan Hua Temple, what a peaceful place, worth a visit at least once, entrance is free, would recommend maybe going in spring not so cold and might be a bit greener.

Hello Lovelies,
Firstly I would like to say xīn nián kuài lè to all the Chinese individuals.
Today I bring you another adventure vlog. We took my cousin, who is here from Serbia, through to the Chinese New Year Celebration at the Nan Hua Buddhist Temple in Bronkhorstspruit. The temple give you a small taste of China. I love experiencing new cultures. We sadly missed the dragon dance and the fireworks however the experience was amazing. The celebration was quite busy, however on other days the Temple is open to visitors, it is a lot more peaceful. I hope you guys enjoy this mini vlog.
