Nana Fadnavis Wada~ Wai Satara
The Nana Phadnavis Wada is a large six-quadrangled, perimeter-protected wada. This construction was completed circa. 1780.
Bhavan Rao Trymbak Pant-Pratinidhi of Aundh and Raghunath Ghanshyam Mantri (Satara) bestowed the village of Menavali to Nana Phadnavis in December 1768.
Nana Phadnavis settled the village and built himself the Wada with the ghat on the river Krishna and the two temples, one dedicated to Lord Vishnu and another to Meneshwar (मेणेश्वर) Lord Shiva.
The Peshwa-era saw architectural combinations of a Wada-type residence, a Ghat on a water-body and a Temple,

Pune: CM Fadnavis to inaugurate Nanawada museum today
A museum that depicts the freedom struggle and several revolts with a Pune connect is all set to open at Nanawada, a Grade I heritage structure, in the heart of the city. The wada itself has deep links to the Peshwa era. It will now tell inspiring stories of revolutionaries and freedom fighters. The museum, constructed by the Pune Municipal Corporation and dedicated to revolutions and the freedom struggle, will be inaugurated by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday. Civic officials said Nanawada was built between 1740 and 1750 by Nana Fadnavis, a powerful man during his time, and a key minister in the Peshwas’ rule. The wada is spread over 20,000sqft. The current structure has an L-shaped building, a remnant of the Peshwa era, and a building from the British era. The structure has an old false ceiling, pillars, rare artefacts, paintings and a dome.

Menavali is only 3 km from Wai. Nana Phadnis was a minister of the Peshwas. He built a wada for residing on the banks of river Krishna. He also constructed two beautiful temples of Menavleshwar and Vishnu. The temple is known by the Village Menavali. There is a huge metal bell hung in front of one of the temple. This Ghat of Krishna river is famous place for shooting films.

The rooms are in a dilapidated condition with the walls caving in .The iconic wada is now crumbling and in certain areas, the walls seem to be coming down.Goverment should declare bhide wada as a heritage site & bulid a memorial in respect it being the first school for girls . - Prashant Phule
