The Quint: Rare Twin-Headed Snake Spotted in Raipur’s Nandanvan
In a rare instance, a Saint Boa snake with two heads was found in Raipur’s Nandanvan.
The snake, said to be approximately 45-day-old, is non poisonous. “This kind of snake was never seen here before. We are looking after the snake. It will be showcased to the visitors. So, it has been kept separately, it is not poisonous. It is 10 centimeter long. The maximum length it can achieve is 20-25 cm,” K.M. Dhangar, Deputy Ranger of Nandanvan, told ANI.

Lion Safari Inaguarted In Nandanvan Raipur
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the Lion Safari at Nandanvan on the occasion of World Forestry Day. After the inauguration ceremony, he said that the safari is being modified to make it a global-level of its kind in the near future. Adding that bird sanctuary will also be established in the safari premises, he said that a proper roadmap has been undertaken to ensure well-implementation of work.

Jungle Safari, Sector-39 is located in New Raipur. New Raipur is approximately 35 km from Raipur railway station and 15 km from Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur. The entire 800-acre area of Paradise Park Safari is greenish with beautiful areas. Many indigenous plant species also combine the vegetation, which make the natural habitat for the animals. It has a 130-acre water body called Khandwa reservoir, which attracts many migratory birds. Four safaris, namely vegetarians, bears, tigers and lions have been planned. 32 more species will be displayed in the upcoming zoo.
Safari
In the Safari area, so far four safaris have been made;
Vegetarian Wildlife Safari - Area 30 Hectares
Bear safari - area 20 hectares
Tiger safari - area 20 hectares
Lion safari - area 20 hectares
The entire area of Safari is covered by a chain link fence at an altitude of 5 meters. It is inclined at the top of 1.5 meters and 60 degrees. There are adequate vegetation, shelter and water bodies in the area. Green belt is made with safari and service road and 55,000 plants have been set up to improve habitat inside safari.
There will be an enclosure in which entry and exit will be done through the double door arrangement and the visitor will run within the Safari at a lower speed on the specified road.
These 4 safari i.e. tiger safari, vegan wildlife safari, lion safaris and bear safari are all ready for visitors. At present, 3 tigers are kept in Tiger Safari, 80 Herbivore has been kept in Herbivore Safari, which includes Chital, Sambar, Blue Bull, Barking Deer, and Black Buck. Bear safari currently has 4 bears.
