Jivdhan Fort via Naneghat (Slideshow)
Jivdhan Fort is situated 45 km near the modern day town of Narayangaon in Junnar Taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra, India. The fort, which rises 1145 meters (3754 ft) above sea level, is located in the Sahyadri mountain range. The fort was looted and destroyed by the British upon siege between 1815 -1818. Naneghat was an important pass joining the seas to the mainland, it was heavily guarded from enemies. The Jivdhan fort stood as an important guard fort to protect the interests of various kingdoms. Jivdhan to Naneghat has an open field of 2--3 km, which gives any clear indication of enemy approach. The British captured this fort in 1818 and destroyed all approaches. This fort was captured by Col. Prother of the East India company and later destroyed. Pinnacle near the fort is known as 'Vanderlingi'.

Naneghat
one of the best place to refreshment near mumbai or pune.
How to reach Naneghat from Mumbai
Kalyan-Murbad-Tokawade-Vaishakhare-Naneghat Start Point
1. Catch a local going towards Kalyan (on Central Line). Get down at Kalyan Station..
2. The ST depot is just besides the station on the west side. Catch any ST going towards Alephata (strictly going via Malshej Ghat)
3. Tell the conductor that you want to get down at the start point of Naneghat. Still if he is confused, tell him that it lies just 5 km after Tokawade village. Note that the start point of Naneghat isn’t an official stop for ST’s and you have to request the conductor to let you get down over there [most of them are generous ones and let you get down :) ]. A big board on the right-hand-side with ‘Naneghat Gumfa Marg’ written in Marathi on it is where you have to get down (check out the below pic for your reference)
How to reach Naneghat from Pune
Note that one can opt for either of the two ways from Pune to reach Naneghat. The first one is an actual trek route whereas the second one is for picnickers.
Route 1: Pune-Alephata-Malshej Ghat-Sawarne-Naneghat Start Point
Route 2: Pune-Narayangaon-Junnar-Ghatghar-Naneghat
Route 1
1. Catch an ST from Pune towards Alephata.
2. Get down at Alephata & catch another ST going for Kalyan (strictly going via Malshej Ghat). You can also find direct ST’s from Pune to Kalyan going via Malshej Ghat.
3. A big board on the left-hand-side with ‘Naneghat Gumfa Marg’ written in Marathi on it is where you have to get down. The board appears 15-20 minutes after Malshej Ghat ends.
Route 2
1. Catch an ST bus from Pune to Junnar.
2. Get down at Junnar & catch another ST going for Ghatghar. A one hour walk on the road will take you to the top of Naneghat. Private vehicles can reach up to the mouth of the Ghat.

Naneghat :-
Naneghat, also referred to as Nanaghat or Nana Ghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range between the Konkan coast and the ancient town of Junnarin the Deccan plateau. The pass is about 120 kilometres (75 mi) north of Pune and about 165 kilometres (103 mi) east from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was a part of an ancient trading route, and is famous for a major cave with Hindu Sanskrit inscriptions in Brahmi script. These inscriptions have been dated between the 2nd and the 1st century BCE, and attributed to the Satavahana dynasty era. The inscriptions are notable for linking the Vedic and Vaishnavism deities, mentioning some Vedic srauta rituals and of names that provide historical information about the ancient Satavahanas. The inscriptions present the world's oldest numeration symbols for 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9 that resemble modern era numerals, more closely those found in modern Nagari and Hindu-Arabic script.

Amaze yourselves with this divine occurrence that will surely blow your mind. Naneghat, a famous picnic spot near Shivneri Fort in Pune, turns divine for its reverse waterfall. Reverse waterfall occurs when strong winds blow water that falls over a ridge upwards. Around 140 km from Pune in Junnar district, this place is heaven for tourists as well as locals especially during monsoon. Naneghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats and is also known as Nanaghat or Nana Ghat.

a natural phenomenon occurs when high winds hit the area and updrafts force the water to blow back upstream — resulting in a sort of reverse waterfall.
This is one of the natural beauty in western ghats in India. We can see this reverse water falls in many places like sinhagad, lohagad, amboli hills, malshej ghat, anjaneri fort, sandhan valley, naneghat. These places are located nearer to the city pune, which is in Maharashtra state. We can see this reverse waterfall in the month of June and July.
Water is not flowing in reverse direction but for our eye sight its looks like that. This is because water is flowing towards down to the valley but due to heavy wind pressure in valley its pushed towards up. Because of this we are seeing like flowing in reverse direction. We can see this reverse water fall only during monsoon seasons along with heavy wind.
Watch this amazing video and enjoy the beauty of mother nature.

Malshej Ghat its a best place to visit and same as bahubali waterfalls i think bahubali shot this place in movie.
It is at a distance of 130 km north of Pune and 154 km from Mumbai towards northeast.
and Kalyan is a nerest railway station
Around Malshej
A nice view of valleys is one of the major attraction here. The view from behind the MTDC resort is a must-see. It is also famous for dark woods and the animals inside.
These animals includes tigers, leopards, rabbits and peacocks etc.
But truly a famous place near Malshej Ghat is Khireshwar which is 2/3 km from rest house.
Through Khireshwar village, one can visit the famous Harishchandragadh also.
One of the beauties here are many waterfalls in the hilly regions.
Various waterfalls from small up to the huge ones are really worth to see and many are right next to the highway.
