广东韶关南曲 南华寺 Shaoguan Nanhua Temple, Guangdong
南华寺坐落于广东省韶关市，曲江县马坝东南7公里的曹溪之畔，距离韶关市南约22公里。 南华寺是中国佛教名寺之一，是禅宗六祖惠能宏扬“南宗禅法”的发源地。
南华寺始建于南北朝梁武帝天监元年（公元502年）。天监三年，寺庙建成，梁武帝赐“宝林寺”名。后又先后更名为“中兴寺”、“法泉寺”、至宋开宝元年（公元968年），宋太宗敕赐“南华禅寺”，寺名乃沿袭至今。因禅宗六祖在此弘法，也称六祖道场。 南华寺建筑面积一万二千多平方米，由曹溪门、放生池、宝林门、天王殿、大雄宝殿、藏经阁、灵照塔、六祖殿等建筑群组成。建筑除灵照塔、六祖殿外，都是1934年后虚云和尚募化重修的。
Nanhua Temple is a famous Buddhist site with a history of over 1500 years, where the sixth Founder of Buddhism Hui Neng established the southern sect of Zen. The temple is located 22 kilometers away from Shaoguan, right at river bank of Caojiang, the Maba Town.
The Nan Hua Temple is built in year of 502 by the Indian monk of Zhiyao Sanzang. Covering an area of 42.5 hectares, it is leaning the mountain and facing the south, with a series of magnificent Buddhist buildings in traditional Chinese architectural styles. Most of the existing buildings were renovated in 1934.

As an excuse to fly drones and take cool video, my wife and I have made it a point to get out of town every week, to discover interesting new places under our noses, near Joburg... or further.
This episode comes a little earlier than my previous one, because I was just more keen to edit this week's... it's a mood thing.
Still without Shiela this week, I meet up with a few friends who were volunteering at Nan Hua Temple during the Chinese New Year Celebrations.
An excellent outing with a lot of people, experiencing Chinese & Buddhist culture.
But should you wish for some peace and quiet, this is a wonderful place for the day, or even for a longer meditation retreats.
