I took the video of the volcano Sakurajima from Nanshu Park where Mr.Saigo and other worriers of Seinan Civil War were buried.
The strong sunset light hits the surface of the Sakurajima and makes the mountain very beautiful and impressive.
When commuting suicide at the last battle of the Civil War, Mr.Saigo might be looking at the similar scenery of Sakurajima and the future of Japan...
西郷隆盛ほか西南戦争で亡くなった戦士たちのお墓がある南洲公園（鹿児島市）で桜島を撮影しました。夕暮れに照らされる桜島が格好良かったです！
城山で自決するとき、西郷さんもこの桜島を、そして日本の未来を見つめていたのでしょうか・・・。

【013】Kagoshima Shiroyama Park

Shiroyama Park (Shiroyama Kōen) is a park in downtown Kagoshima that stretches over Mount Shiroyama. With an elevation of 107 meters, the mountain used to the site of a castle fortification, which led to its name. Shiroyama literally means castle mountain in Japanese. The castle's former grounds at the base of the mountain now are the site of the Reimeikan Museum nowadays.
The park is most famous for its Shiroyama Observatory with magnificent views over downtown Kagoshima, Kagoshima Bay and Sakurajima. The night view is also great, especially if a fair sky and bright moon allow Sakurajima. Beautiful views can also be enjoyed from the Satsuma no Yu outdoor hot spring bath in hotel Shiroyama ,which is also open to non-staying guests.
Moreover, the park will hold the interest of travelers interested in Japanese history since it was the site of the final battle of the Satsuma Rebellion in 1877. The local hero Saigo Takamori is said to have made his last stand at Saigo Cave, situated within the park.

The City View Bus Shiroyama-Iso line runs between Kagoshima Chuo Station and the Shiroyama Observatory.
(20 minutes, departures every 30 minutes, 190 yen or 600 yen for a day pass)

Sakurajima is very close to Kagoshima City.
It is surprising that people live very close to the active volcano.
This scenery resembles Napoli City (Italy) and Mt. Il monte Vesuvio.
For this similarity, Kagoshima City and Napoli City are sister cities.

My friends took me to the Ramen restaurant the other day and I found it very delicious.
Ramen Culture in JAPAN
When you visit Japan, I recommend you to eat Ramen noodles.
Every prefecture of Japan has different taste of Ramen.
It is interesting to compare the taste difference of noodle.
Japanese people like to have Ramen after drinking alcohol at the Izakaya bar.
Ramen in Kagoshima
Generally speaking, Kagoshima Ramen noodle is following characteristics.
1) Main taste is miso (fermented soy beans)
2) Noodle is thick
3) Slice of Kurobuta (Indigenous Pig in Kagoshima) are put on top of noodle.
Kagoshima City holds championship of Ramen noodle restaurant.
You can taste various Ramen while enjoying concerts and stage performance.

Beautiful morning sun start to cast sunshine on sleepy Kagoshima City. I took the video on my way from home to workplace.
Yesterday when I touched my wife's belly, I felt the baby kicked her belly. The moment was very sensational and unforgettable for us! I thank the God to give us precious baby.
