The Nara National Museum is one of four national museums in Japan, and opened in 1895 as the second national museum after the Tokyo National Museum. One of the country’s best collections of Buddhism, including the national treasure Statue of the Eleven-faced Kannon, is a highlight. In addition to permanent exhibitions, and special exhibitions are also held at any time.
The Shoshoin Exhibition, which displays famous treasures related to the Emperor Shomu, is held every fall and is a major event that attracts over 200,000 visitors.

Japan Travel: Nara National Museum Buddhist arts historic building, Nara31
The Nara National Museum is located within Nara Park, and is an art museum primarily displaying Japanese Buddhist art. The museum was founded over 100 years ago, which retains its original building. A new wing was later added, and is connected to the original building by an underground passage.
Both wings display the museum's permanent collection, focusing on Buddist arts including Buddhist statues, paintings, scrolls and ceremonial objects mainly collected from Japan. The new wing also features temporary exhibitions, including exhibitions of treasures from the Todaiji Temple annualy held in autumn. A ticket to the museum applies both wings, and English explanations are available throughout the museum.

NARA DEER PARK, JAPAN
Nara Park (奈良公園, Nara Kōen) is a large park in central Nara. Established in 1880, it is the location of many of Nara's main attractions including Todaiji, Kasuga Taisha, Kofukuji and the Nara National Museum. It is also home to hundreds of freely roaming deer.
Nara Park is a five minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station or about a 20 minute walk from JR Nara Station. Alternatively, the park can be reached by bus. There are multiple stops around the park

Nara , Japan : My room for the night
I had unpleasant stay at this hostel. The worst hostel in my entire backpack trip.
1st I kept receive email from the hostel : tell me to check in before 8pm or else they will charge me 2000 yen etc
2nd , full of house rules , one I found not acceptable is : you have to pay 2000 yen ( if I did not read wrongly ) to throw rubbish more then a kilo or 2 .
3rd I have to make my bed myself ( never in my entire life , I have to make my bed myself at hostel ) beside that I am requested to remove and bring all the bedsheet to lobby before I check in.
4th that's rat running around at night ???? anyhow i survived from India so not a big deal to me and I know it will leave soon cause I don't keep food with me .
So my 2 cents please check the term and condition before you book this hostel .
