Find your favorite Sake at its birthplace in Japan
Nara is the birthplace of sake. Large part of Nara sake breweries produce pure rice sake without processed alcohol, and with its original sake yeasts (eg. from sacred lilies of shrine precinct). They also invented better fermentation processes. Hideo-san's class is the best way for you to know about basics of sake as well as the Nara's sake specialties. Please contact Nara Wellness Tourism

JAPAN: THEME PARKS WITH TRAVEL MOTIF ARE BECOMING NEW TREND
Japanese/Nat
Theme parks with a travel motif are the hottest new trend in Japan - pulling in millions of busy, frugal or just plain timid Japanese tourists each year.
They are incredibly elaborate - and expensive - mockups designed to make the visitor feel decidedly not at home.
A bazaar in Istanbul.
Japanese tourists shopping for a bargain, a scarf, a Turkish rug and ornate silver goblets.
In reality, it is a 140 million U-S dollars theme park in northern Japan and it is fast becoming the latest travel craze.
More than 120,000 people are expected to go to the Turkish Culture Village in the first 12 months.
Overall, attendance at travel parks like this village is probably 10 million to 11 million a year.
The parks bank, in part, on the hassles of real travel and the lingering fear many Japanese have of venturing out beyond their shores.
SOUNDBITE:(Japanese)
I have never been to Turkey. Of course I want to go there. But it is too far away for me to go there.
SUPER CAPTION: Shichiro Kataoka, Japanese tourist.
21 year old belly dancer Ozge Yetisen was brought out from Ankara and finds the Japanese a pleasure.
SOUNDBITE:(Turkish)
Japanese men are polite. And they are shy.

Behind the popularity of the parks is the Japanese obsession with foreign travel.
A record 16.5 million Japanese - more than one of every 10 people in the country - will travel abroad this coming year.
SOUNDBITE:(Japanese)
To the eyes of foreign people, it may seem strange. But Japanese people are not good at acting independently or making decisions by themselves. So we are giving people direction so they can learn from it.
SUPER CAPTION: Toshiyuki Koiwa. President Turkish culture village
An hour's drive from the Turkish village lies the Russian village.
There's no paperwork, no jet lag, no crowded flights, no incomprehensible languages. And, most of all, no crime.
Japanese tourists experience a different culture, at home.
But for those who do want to get the thrill of danger - vicariously, of course - there is no need look any further than Tobu World Square, a world-in-miniature park just north of Tokyo.
Japanese tourists flock to have their photos taken in front of some of the world's most famous landmarks.
SOUNDBITE: (Japanese)
I believe that people visit our park start wanting to go to such and such a country and visit these sites.
SUPER CAPTION: Hiroshi Miyahara, Tobu world square director
Good news for the tourist industry around the world, the Japan Travel Bureau says Japanese travelling abroad will spend an average dlrs 3,200 in foreign countries in 1997.
