Japan Tour Adventure : Narita City & Temple
My buddy from Canada is visiting Japan and we thought we'd spend a day touring around some really cool spots in a city nearby. Tokyo is up next, but for today we went to a temple that is very popular at new-years. It's name is Shinsoji Temple. We walk the streets and chat about culture, Korea, and our experiences while abroad. We even offer some dating advice. So sit back relax and enjoy.

10-Hour Layover in Narita, Japan!!! What to do?
I had a long layover during the day in Narita airport, which is about 1.5 hours away from Tokyo. Though Tokyo was somewhat close by, I decided to visit Narita City, which is only a 10-minute train ride from the airport...was not disappointed!
Though it was a cold & rainy day, it did not stop me or many other tourists from visiting the walking city! The big highlights for me were: Buddhist temple, rows of shops selling snacks to souvenirs, & the food (Unagi and takoyaki).

What you NEED to KNOW when you First Arrive in Japan
This Japan guide reviews what to do in Tokyo when you first arrive at Narita Airport or Haneda Haneda Airport. First time travelers are confused what to do in Tokyo, where to go, how to get from Narita Airport to Tokyo, how to get from Haneda Airport to Tokyo as well as what to eat in Japan. I cover all these questions and much more. These are Japan Travel Guide tips I wish someone told me when I first arrived in Japan or even wish I knew before I came to Japan. This video is perfect for first time travelers who don't know the difference between Narita Airport or Haneda Airport. Also, I share with you how to Get a SIM a card and what useful apps you can download before arriving at the Tokyo Airport in Japan. I even provide some tips on Showers and Tokyo Capsule Hotels at both Tokyo airports.
----- Must Know things when First Arriving in Tokyo Japan -----
0:51 - #1 Difference Between Narita & Haneda Airport
Travelers flying into Tokyo for the first time, have an option to fly into Narita or Haneda Airport.
Narita is the larger of the 2 airports and is generally known to have more international flights while Haneda has more domestic flights. Both have lots of dining and shopping areas, but since Haneda is newly ren, I have to give Haneda the overall edge when it comes to attractions.
The biggest differentiator between both airports is the distance to Tokyo. Narita is about 1 hr away by express train, while Haneda is about 15-30 min train ride away. So it’s a little cheaper transportation-wise from Haneda.

Here are tips to get to and from Narita Airport. I've lived in Japan for almost 15 years now and this advice is based on all my experiences. Hope this video helps.

0:12-Intro
0:13-1:07 Overview of transportation options to Narita Airport
The options are...
-Express Train - Narita Express and Keisei Skyliner
-Local Bus
-Bus - LCC and limousine
-Taxi
Basically LCC buses are the cheapest way to go, and express trains and limousine are about the same price.
1:08-1:28 Overview of express train
-Narita Express is great for people staying in south west area including Shinjuku, Shibuya and Tokyo.
-Keisei Skyliner is great for people staying in north east area including Ueno and Nippori.
1:29-2:52 How to ride the express train
-From the Airport:
When you arrive at Narita Airport, go to B1. You will find RED Narita Express ticket booth and machines on the right and BLUE Skyliner ticket booth and machines on the left.
-To the Airport:
N'EX - Go to your nearest JR station to buy ticket. You can buy tickets even though express train does not stop at your nearest station.
Skyliner - Go to Nippori or Ueno to buy tickets.
2:52-4:05 Tips on express train
Tip 1 - Arrive to the station 15-20 minutes early (on return)
There is always a long line at the ticket booth and the platform to get on the train might be quite far from the gate so make sure to arrive early.
Tip 2 - Use ticket machine when in hurry
Usually you don't need to wait in line for ticket machines to buy a ticket and takes only about 5 minutes. Consider this as an option when you are in hurry.
Tip 3 - Sit at the front of the car
Luggage compartment is located at the front and the end of the each car of express train. People get stuck when getting the luggage upon arrivals. It is stressful to worry about if you can get out or not so it's good to sit at the front. (the end is ok too.)
Note: About tickets
when you buy tickets by credit card, you will receive 3 tickets - an express train ticket, receipt, and credit card receipt. You need to show only the train ticket to the train attendant.
CORRECTION: X 4 ticket → ◉ 3 tickets
(I was with my gf so we had 4 tickets.)
4:05 - 5:22 Bus
- LCC (Tokyo Shuttle and Access Narita) can take you to/from Tokyo and Ginza Station.
- Limousine Bus runs to/from major hotels.
5:23 - 6:05 How to take the bus
-Limousine Bus and Tokyo Shuttle - At Narita Airport on the first floor, you can find ticket machines and man booth.
-Access Narita - All you need to do is go to the train stop and pay on the bus. No reservation needed.

Going over the old video files I came across these clips. Not really knowing what to do with them, I decided to put them together and create a nostalgic movie.

How to get from Narita Airport to Central Tokyo
#DistantLands #NaritaAirport #Tokyo
Wheels down, you have landed at Narita Airport your next step is to grab your bags, clear customs and then make your way to Tokyo. Narita airport is located about 60 kilometers east of Tokyo and the options for getting to from Narita to Tokyo are many and varied from Train, bus, taxi and even helicopter. For the first time visitor, the variety can seem a bit overwhelming. Depending on where your final destination is in Tokyo, one way may be more convenient than an other. Let us sort out the confusion.
Tokyo is a vast metropolitan area, with over 770 square miles to explore. Locals speak of Tokyo’s geography in terms of Train Lines. There’s a loop line around central Tokyo called the Yamanote Line. The neighborhoods on this line and the neighborhoods with in the loop are all considered downtown Tokyo. The Yamanote loop includes six stations the serve as Tokyo’s main connecting hubs: Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinagawa and Ueno stations. Anything outside the Yamanote loop is considered uptown or suburbia. This makes Tokyo’s downtown massive: the loop is 21.4 miles around.
All of this is important when considering transportation options from Narita Airport. One express train may be better for you than the other depending where in Tokyo you need to go.
