Narita Gion Festival (Matsuri) 2018 is a yearly festival. I is celebrated for 3 days which start July 6-8. The parade of floats, a movable sacred shrine is held at the walkway of Omotesando Street going to Narita San (Narita Temple). You can find plenty of stores in the area that sell souvenir items, Japanese street food like karaage, yakisoba, yakitori, grilled eel, choco banana and alcoholic drinks.
Narita Gion Festival began when the people of the town started celebrating along with Naritasan Shinsho-ji temple's Narita Gion event. It is a 300 year long festival featuring 10 moving floats in action.Signaling the beginning of summer, many tourists visit Narita every year. The local people, known to start preparing for the next festival from the day it finishes, are matsuri-crazy. With the So-odori and So-hiki as main centerpieces, the entire town of Narita turns festival color as festive chants and calls ring out. Enjoy the historic festival along with the classic townscape beautiful old scenery still remains.

Narita Gion Festival is an old traditional matsuri in Narita city, Chiba Prefecture which is close to Narita International Airport. This 3-days festival is one of the leading annual events of Narita city and attracts over 450000 people every year. Because of its popularity and location, it attracts a lot of foreigners as well. You will not recognize the city during the festival. You can hear festive chants and shouts and admire this traditional town in new festival colors.

A few days ago I went to a festival held around Naritasan Shinshoji (Naritas temple) called the Narita Gion festival. It's a festival that started hundreds of years ago. They worship and carry around the temples omikoshi (portable shrine) along with several other carts.

Narita Gion Festival
The Narita Gion Festival is a summer festival, which has continued for over 300 years. At this event, one of Naritasan Shinshoji's portable shrines (omikoshi), along with 10 other different floats are paraded down the Omotesando Road. It lasts for three days and traditional competitions and musical performances are held. There are more than 400,000 spectators are come.
