Trimbakeshwar Temple :rimbakeshwar - one of the holy places of not only Maharashtra but the whole India is near Nashik. Trimbakeshwar is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The following verse shall explain the importance of this sacred place and the next one gives names of the Twelve Jyotirlingas in India.
This says that anybody who visits Tryambakeshwar attains salvation. There is no sacred place like Tryambakeshwar, no river like Godavari, no mountain like Brahmagiri etc. The reasons for its being so sacred are - Godavari river originates in this place, its a place of Tri-Sandhya Gayatri, the birth place of Lord Ganesha, a place of the first Nath of Nath Sampradaya consisting of Gorakhnath and others, a place where Nivrittinath was made to imbibe the holy knowledge by his Guru Gahininath, a place where Nivrittinath made his brothers and sister attain the self by his preaching. This is the holiest place to perform Shraddha ceremony. Nirnaya Sindhu - a religious book of Hindus, mentions that this place, where Sahyadri mountain and Godavari river exist is very purifying on the whole earth and is therefore very important for performing Shraddha ceremony.

Kalaram Temple, Panchavati - Nashik
The Kalaram temple is located in Panchavati - Nashik and is an architectural grandeur, with the motif, pretty much analogous to that of the Trimbakeshwar Temple. Built during the Peshwas rule, this 70 feet high structure was constructed with black stone extracted from the mine of Ramshej Hill. . The temple derives its name from the statue of Lord Rama that is black in colour. The literal translation of Kalaram means black Rama. The sanctum sanctorum also houses the statues of goddess Sita and Lakshman. Thousands of devotees visit it every day. The temple was funded by Sardar Rangarao Odhekar. It was built around in 1792. It was said that Sardar Odhekar had a dream that the statue of Rama in black colour is there in the river Godavari. Odhekar took the statues from river and built the temple. The place where statues were found was named as Ramkund. The main entrance of the temple has Lord Hanuman idol (Sharminda Hanuman) which is black. Gyrating this temple, are various small temples dedicated to Lord Vitthala, Lord Ganesha and Hanuman. There is mention of visiting the temple by Chakradhar Swami, Saint Eknath Maharaj, Shri Samartha Ramdas Swami & Great Shri Gajanan Maharaj came to the temple and got to see Lord Ram himself. The temple formed a pivotal role in Dalit movement in India. The famous Dr. Ambedkar once held a protest outside the temple for allowance of Dalits into the temple.

Shri Naro Shankar Mandir in Nashik
Naroshankar Temple is located in Panchavati, near the bank of Godavari which is fondly named by Nasikites as Ganga. In 1747, the temple is structured by Naroshankar Rajebahadur in architectural style of 18th century which is also known as 'Maya' style. The outer part of temple is well sculptured with rows of attractive designs. The one layer is of peacocks with bead garlends while other is of ornamental lacework. The statues of saint Padmasana are placed in all four directions. In this architectural temple, you will find collection of animal's effigy which portrays that Hindu religion gives enough importance to animals in its culture.
The temple is bounded by more than 11 feet long fortification. At every corner of temple there are umbrellas which called 'Barasati' and 'Meghadambari'. Out of them only three are visible today as one of them washes away during Godavari river floods. The 'Bell house' is placed at the front part of fortification where the 'Naroshankar Bell' has been fixed. The bell represents victorious memories of Naroshanka Rajebahaddur, during war against Portugese.
After the victory of fort, the bell of Portugese church was gifted to Naroshankar as an award of gallantry. The bell is made of bronze material with diameter of six feet long and '1921' is a year engraved on it.
The bell clinking can be listened up to 9 kilometers. The bell jingling is so prominent that there is famous phrase crafted in local language- Marathi. If a person talks with a very loud pitch then he is called 'Naroshankarachi Ghanta'. In recent time, the Nasik Municipal Corporation has performed the renovation activity at Naroshankar temple.

TRAMBAKESHVAR NASHIK (BRAMHAGIRI DARSHAN)
Introduction:
Sinhasth Kumbh is held in the Nasik-Trimbakeshwar area of Maharashtra.
Nasik city is situated on the banks of Godavari River, 8 km to the west of Nasik railway station on the Delhi-Mumbai rail route.
Trimbakeshwar is 29 km to the west of Nasik. Godavari river originates from Brahmagiri. Shiva's famous Jyotirling is also situated here.
The area to the north of Godavari is called Panchvati where Lord Ram spent 12 years of exile and Laxman cut the nose of Shurpankha, Ravan's sister.
Asia's largest golf course is also situated in Nasik.
Nasik is also famous for its grape gardens. It is also known as the wine capital of India.
The Godavari (Marathi : गोदावरी)(Telugu: గోదావరి) is a river in the south-central India. It starts in the western state of Maharashtra and flows through the Southern state of Andhra Pradesh before reaching the Bay of Bengal. It forms one of the largest river basins in India. With a length of 1465 km, it is the second longest river in India, after the The Ganges, and the longest in southern India. It originates near Trimbak in Nashik District of Maharashtra state. It flows east across the Deccan Plateau into the Bay of Bengal near Yanam and Antarvedi in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.[3]
The Godavari is a major waterway in central India, originating in the Western Ghats Trimbakeshwar, in the Nashik Subdivision or District Of Maharashtra and flowing eastwardly across the Deccan Plateau through the state of Maharashtra. It is known as dakshin ganga (Southern Ganges) because it originates from river Ganga (underground water) near Trimbak in Nashik. It enters Andhra Pradesh at Basara in Adilabad district. While passing through the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh it touches a small village called Dharmapuri, which is a pilgrimage village with many ancient Hindu temples and river Godavari serving as spiritual place in true sense for bathing in Godavari river spread over rocks and sand. While crossing the Deccan Plateau and then turns to flow in a southeast direction until it empties into the Bay of Bengal through two mouths.[4] Basara, on the banks of Godavari in Adilabad District, is home to a famous temple for Goddess Saraswati and is the second temple for the Goddess in India.
Rajahmundry, is the second largest city (Nashik is the largest city) on the banks of Godavari. At Rajahmundry, Godavari is in its widest form having a width of approximately 5 km from Rajahmundry to the other bank at Kovvur.
The Sri Ram Sagar Project which was constructed on this river (1964--69) serves the irrigation needs of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Warangal districts.
Although the river arises only 80 kilometres from the Arabian Sea, it flows 1,465 km to empty into the Bay of Bengal. Just above Rajamundry, there is a dam that provides water for irrigation. Below Rajahmundry, the river divides into two streams that widen into a large river delta which has an extensive navigable irrigation-canal system, Dowleswaram Barrage that links the region to the Krishna River delta to the southwest.[5]
The Godavari River has a drainage area of 312,812 km². It includes more than one Indian state. Furthermore, the drainage ares covers nearly one-tenth of of the area of India and is greater than the areas of England and Ireland put together. The major tributaries of the riiver such as Pravara, Indravati, Manjira River, Bindusara River,Sabari RiverWainganga, and Wardhadischarge an enormous volume of water into the Godavari
It is located at the source of the Godavari River, the longest river in peninsular India. The Godavari River, which is considered sacred within Hinduism, originates from Bramhagiri mountains and meets the sea near Rajahmudry. Kusavarta, a kund is considered the symbolic origin of the river Godavari, and revered by Hindus as a sacred bathing place. The current temple was built by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao (a.k.a Nanasaheb).
