On November 16th 2016, I went to NARU island situated 20 km off the Northeast of FUKUE island(where I'm staying) to take videos of scenic spots there. This video is one of them!! Going to the NARU-jima island by ferry!!
Today(November 16th 2016), I'm going to NARU island to take videos of scenic spots there!! NARU island, 20 km off the Northeast of FUKUE island where I'm staying, is one the five major islands of GOTO-RETTOU archipelago. NARU island can be accessed by 30min. voyage at 510 yen per one way from FUKUE port!! This video is a seascape viewing one from ferry deck on the magnificent archipelago stretching from FUKUE to NARU island. (These islands are designated as Special Zone of SAIKAI National Park.) Additionally, the interesting viewing of the ferry's skillful docking at ferry terminal will appear at the end of this video!! Please don't miss it!!

NARU island(奈留島) on the East China Sea, 100 km off the coast of NAGASAKI city in western KYUSYU, is noted for its magnificent archipelago seascape. This video is one of the highlights of this island's scenic spots. The erosive effects of waves lasting for millions of years created a huge flat board-formed rock of sandstone!! You'll enjoy a rarely seen view of this spacious rocky sheet stretching toward a small green island. In 1383,Uku Satoru,the 8th head of the Goto family(the powerful SAMURAI family of the local ruler),moved from the island of Uku and built a castle(means Shiro in Japanese) on the top of this mountain in this town of KISYUKU(岐宿町). So,that's why this place was named Shirodake(dake is general term means mountain). Japanese castles are roughly categorize into 3 types according to their location and functions. Specifically,HIRAJIRO(平城)castles in the plains, HIRAYAMAJIRO(平山城)hill top castles,and YAMAJIRO(山城)mountain top castles. This castle is defined as YAMAJIRO(山城),which was used mainly in the time of war; meanwhile they lived in a small village at the foot of this mountain in the time of peace. The main observatory commands the HASSAKU plateau(八朔台地),the wind power plant, and many islands including Naru island,and to the left,stretches the bay of SHIRAISHI(白石湾) noted for The hawser stone in SHIRAISHI(白石の艫綱石) previously reported in this channel. Incidentally,this observatory appears in the TripAdvisor as Shironotake Observation Deck. Farther up from this main observatory,there's a radio relay tower for cell phones,which also commands a fine view. So,please enjoy a panoramic view of northern Fukue island from another observatory on the tower in the program,Mt.Shirodake(城岳)#3(At the tower observatory)!! ????

It's the ferry port named FUKUE-kou located in FUKUE-jima island on the east China sea,120 km off the coast of Nagasaki city in western Kyusyu. This magnificent ferry port against a mountain has ineffable beauty,particularly under the evening sun,the shaded slopes of the mountain are in deep gloom while the sunlit parts are tinged red!!

It's travel report by the channel of GOTO ISLANDS,which is the special channel literally focusing on the highlights of this magnificent archipelago of GOTO ISLANDS. GOTO ISLANDS, or GOTO RETTOU in Japanese, literally means 5 major islands of archipelago, is made up of 140 islands including ５major ones represented by FUKUE-jima island which is the largest one among them. GOTO RETTOU, on the east China sea,100 km off the coast of NAGASAKI city in western KYUSYU,abounds in many, many scenic and historic sites. In terms of scenic beauty,GOTO RETTOU is designated as SAIKAI National Park noted for its magnificent archipelago seascape. Additionally,in terms of historic sites, some places are designated as JAPAN HERITAGE(governmental designation),and others are registered on the tentative list of UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage!!
Accordingly, I think few places in Japan can rival this archipelago's wealth of historic and scenic sites.
So,that's why I decided to open this channel to send you travel report on this amazing archipelago by utilizing my knowledge as licensed guide.
(GOTO ISLANDSは、トラベルレポート番組ですが、文字通り五島列島の見所に特化したものです。五大島からなる島嶼と言う意味の五島列島は、最大の島である福江島に代表される五大島をはじめとした140もの島々で構成されています。東シナ海を臨む五島列島は、西九州は長崎市より海上100kmにあり、数多くの史跡名勝に溢れた地です。名勝と言う意味では、五島列島は、壮麗な多島海景観で知られる西海国立公園に指定されて居ります。加うるに、国指定の日本遺産になっているところも有れば、ユネスコの世界文化遺産の暫定リストに登録されているものもあります。そう言う事から、私は、当島嶼の豊かな史跡名勝に匹敵する地は日本でも数少ないと思います。そう言う事情で、認定ガイドとしての知識・知見を総動員してこの刮目すべき島嶼に関するトラベルレポートを作成して皆様にお届けすべくこの番組を立ち上げました。

I'm continuously reporting from ORIKAMI OBSERVATORY in HISAKA-jima island. This observatory located in northeastern HISAKA commands a panoramic view of beautiful mountains, traditional rice paddy fields and NARUSETO-straits noted for its scenic beauty!! After filming the panoramic view, on the way to the rental car, I found a monument and a wooden post with a HAIKU-poem inscribed on it around the observatory!! See ???? for detailed information!!(引き続き、久賀島の折紙展望台よりお送りして居ります。島の北東部に位置するこの展望台からは、美しい山々や昔ながらの田圃に風光明媚な事で知られる奈留瀬戸などが一望出来ます!! で、その眺望を撮影した後、レンタカーに戻る途中、展望台近辺にとある記念碑や俳句が刻まれた柱を見つけました。詳しくはビデオをご覧のほどを!!)

五島奈留島江上天主堂→奈留港ターミナル走行動画（６倍速）/ Narushima Ride
世界遺産 「長崎と天草地方の潜伏キリシタン関連遺産」 構成遺産の一つ：長崎県五島市奈留島西岸にある 「江上天主堂」 から県道１６８号で 「遠命寺（えんめいじ）トンネル（770m）」 を抜け同島中央部相ノ浦湾西岸を南下、奈留集落の裏通りを通って 「奈留港ターミナル」 に向かう （8.0km） 自転車走行６倍速動画。 路面状況確認の参考になればとアップロードしました。途中標高 46m の遠命寺峠をトンネル （水平路 770m） で越える区間以外は平坦路です。
この区間には１日４往復の路線バスが走ってはいますが観光には不便なダイヤなのでタクシーで往復するのが一般的です。遠命寺峠越えは上り・下りとも各 400m 程度、残りは平坦路なので雨さえ降らなければ自転車でも楽勝です。
撮影は 2019/03/12（火）15h05AM～15h40、実走３５分の行程を約６分に圧縮してあります。この日天気は良かったのですが、春一番の強い北風が吹き、奈留港→江上天主堂方向の走行は向風との戦いとなりました。
世界遺産 「江上天主堂」 を訪問するには事前予約が必須となります。

Synopsis: An aspiring artist's world is about to be turned upside down.
