This is the Nate Saint House in Shell, Ecuador. A few days before our visit, Mincaye, Waodoni tribesman who killed Nate Saint, came for a visit. The foreman overseeing the restoration project told us about the event.
Here's a post I wrote about this visit:
Generations: MAF's Legacy in Ecuador
maf.org
MAF has served people in remote areas of the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador since 1948. MAF missionary pilot Nate Saint, and missionaries Jim Elliot, Roger Youderian, Pete Fleming, and Ed McCully were killed by the Waodani tribe in 1956. After their deaths, many in the tribe came to know Christ. The legacy left by these missionaries is still being felt today.
Gilberto Nenquimo, a grandson of one of the members of the 1956 spearing party, continues the ministry of reaching the Waodani with Christ’s love. MAF and Alas de Soccoro, an MAF affiliate program, are with him every step of the way.
