National Arboretum Australia includes a great Bonsai collection [Australia 2018]
#Bonsai #Australia #Canberra #Arboretum
A visit to the National Arboretum in Canberra, Australia in December 2018. The landscape surrounding the area has been rebuilt after a great fire. They have done a tremendous job in planting the various types of trees and plants that were lost in the fire and not extra protection has been taken to protect it. Inside you will find the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia which has the best collection of Bonsai plants that we have ever seen. A really beautiful place to visit if you love nature. You will also find the Nest Ill here. Hope you enjoy this little video we shared from our recent trip.

Bonsai Versions of the World’s Tallest Tree
Bonsai is a Japanese art form using miniature trees grown in containers. Similar practices exist in other cultures, including the Chinese tradition of penjing from which the art originated. The Japanese tradition dates back over a thousand years, and has its own aesthetics and terminology.
The purposes of bonsai are primarily contemplation (for the viewer) and the pleasant exercise of effort and ingenuity (for the grower). A bonsai is created beginning with a specimen of source material. This may be a cutting, seedling, or small tree of a species suitable for bonsai development.
While there are many popular species for Bonsai, I am fascinated by the use of Coast Redwoods, as they are the tallest trees currently on Earth.
Common names include coast redwood, California redwood, and giant redwood. They are evergreens and can live 1200–1800 years or more, reaching up to 379 feet (115.5 m) in height (without the roots) and up to 26 feet (7.9 m) in diameter at breast height. An estimated 95% or more of the original old-growth redwood forest has been cut down due to its excellent properties for use as lumber in construction.

Bonsai known before 600 years in China by chance where Chinese noted the growth of some dwarfing alashagarbshkl.
The National Arboretum Canberra is a 250-hectare (618 acre) arboretum in Canberra, the national capital of Australia, created after the area was burned out as a result of the Christmas 2001 and 2003 Canberra bushfires: The Himalayan Cedar forest lost about one third of its trees, and the commercial Radiata Pine plantation was burned out, allowing the arboretum to be created.
See bonsai and penning ablaze in autumn color at the National Bonsai and Penning Collection. Now is a great time to visit with many miniature trees displaying their autumn colors, like this group of Japanese maples.
The Bonsai Welcome Garden, or Yokoso Niwa is inspired by Japanese bonsai and moss gardens. The garden represents a landscape of mountains, symbolised by the large rocks, with a dry river bed flowing between them.
Plants include Scleranthus biflorus and uniflorus, local mosses, Lomandra longifolia 'Tanika', Macrozamia moorei and Cycas revoluta. The Japanese maple is Acer palmatum ‘Dissectum Inabe Shidare’.

Walking though the Village Centre to the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection, at the National Arboretum, Canberra, Australia.
Regular viewers know I use I cane to get around a majority of the time, and my walks are slow and short. I find them relaxing though, and a great way for me to #BuildALadder . I hope you find them beneficial too, and can use this video to take a moment to relax, be still, and breathe.
