2017 Ottawa 7-Minute Stretch at ABA - National Gallery of Canada | Ottawa Tourism
For the 2nd year, Ottawa greeted the delegates at the ABA Marketplace every morning and afternoon with the Ottawa 7-minute stretch. Before each round of appointments, delegates were invigorated with lively dance warm routines and a cooldown stretch. The 6 videos, shown on 4 giant screens, gave short talks about Ottawa and then showed Ottawa through these creative workouts to popular tunes. Delegates were following along the stretches in the isles of the appointments. Ottawa also had a booth in the Canada section on the floor, with Ottawa Tourism staff and 6 members showcasing Canada's Capital.

Exhibition on Early Canadian Travel Photography at the National Gallery of Canada
In the 19th century, the only way for most people to travel and discover Canada was through photography. The Library and Archives Canada exhibition, For the Record: Early Canadian Travel Photography, brings us back to that era with the help of photos of the country’s iconic attractions, taken by both professionals and tourists. The exhibition runs until August 30, 2015, at the National Gallery of Canada, in Ottawa.

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - National Gallery of Canada - Maman HD (2015)
Maman (1999) is a bronze, stainless steel, and marble sculpture by the artist Louise Bourgeois. The sculpture, which depicts a spider, is among the world's largest, measuring over 30 ft high and over 33 ft wide (927 x 891 x 1024 cm). It includes a sac containing 26 marble eggs and its abdomen and thorax are made up of ribbed bronze. The title is the familiar French word for Mother. The sculpture was created in 1999 by Bourgeois as a part of her inaugural commission of The Unilever Series (2000), in the Turbine Hall at London's Tate Modern. This original was created in steel, with an edition of six subsequent castings in bronze.

national gallery of canada public spaces ottawa ontario
This is a 5x5 (5 shots each 5 seconds) celebrates some of the public spaces at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, Ontario. This magnificent cathedral to art was first opened in May of 1988. The museum feature an impressive private collection which is rotated on a semi-regular basis and shares impressive traveling shows. We have visited NGC many times; we have our favorite parts of the regular collection, but always take time to visit the traveling show that is in town. The traveling shows are guaranteed to delight, annoy, infect your sense as well as offend them - as a true art experience should! The organic collection will delight the senses. Perhaps, some day the curator will move a seating into the impressionist gallery, to permit the weary traveler enjoy the beauty of that room. Created on October 17, 2011 using FlipShare.
Exploring National Art Gallery: Ottawa ON
A visit to Ottawa, Ontario just isn’t a visit without a peek inside the Canada National Gallery. Situated just off Sussex Dr. about 10 minutes from Parliament Hill, the National Galley boasts several stories of media. From drawings, to prints, to sculptures. There are even several videography exhibition pieces. Amidst all the lovely art are several common areas which offer a serene, almost spiritual atmosphere to read or simply contemplate life. If you’re an avid lover of art, you can easily find yourself exploring the gallery for an entire day. Most people should set aside a minimum of 2 hours if you intend to walk through the entire gallery. As wonderful as some of the art was, the food offered in the main sitting foyer was the real surprise. This was honestly one of the best eating experiences I’ve had in Ottawa thus far.

66 ???? Wandering Around Ottawa | National Gallery of Canada ???? Special Exhibits ❄ Winterlude
*Warning* Video contains strobing lights!
On the last day of Winterlude, after catching a drumming performance and getting a quick glance at some ice sculptures in the Byward Market, I head into the always surprising National Gallery of Canada to see two special art exhibits: Anthroposcene and Paul Klee. After viewing those special exhibits, I wandered into the Canadian and Indigenous section of the gallery and explored some other areas in art as well.
