The foreign relations of the State of Palestine have been conducted since the establishment of the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1964. In November 1988, the PLO's Palestinian National Council declared the independence of the State of Palestine and in 1994 the PLO established the Palestinian National Authority following the Oslo Accords. The PLO Executive Committee performs the functions of the government of the State of Palestine. Currently, the PLO maintains a network of offices in foreign countries and also represents the PNA abroad. From 2011, the PLO's diplomatic effort has been focused on the so-called Palestine 194 campaign, which aims to gain membership for the State of Palestine in the United Nations. It seeks to effectively gain collective recognition for a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Continue reading... From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

ZAMBIA: The SUNDAY CRAFTS MARKET in LUSAKA, local art handicrafts for sale ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit the Sunday Crafts market which is a weekly market held in the car park at the Arcades Shopping Centre, in the capital of Zambia, the city of Lusaka. This market features the best range of handicrafts, especially wood carvings, curios made from malachite and African prints. Bargaining is expected, though it's a relaxed, low-pressure affair. Lusaka is the capital of Zambia. In the center, sprawling Lusaka City Market sells clothing, produce and other goods. The National Museum exhibits archaeological finds and contemporary art. Nearby, the Freedom Statue commemorates Zambia's struggle for independence. South of the city, Munda Wanga Environmental Park has a wildlife sanctuary and botanical garden. The Lilayi Elephant Nursery cares for orphaned elephants. Zambia, in southern Africa, is a landlocked country of rugged terrain and diverse wildlife, with many parks and safari areas. On its border with Zimbabwe is famed Victoria Falls – indigenously called Mosi-oa-Tunya, or Smoke That Thunders” – plunging a misty 108m into narrow Batoka Gorge. Spanning the Zambezi River just below the falls is Victoria Falls Bridge, a spectacular viewpoint. #VicStefanu Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com.

Tengenenge: unique craft centre
Sculptures at Tengenenge VillageOwn Correspondent We are all versed with the founding of the Tengenenge sculpture community in the mid1960s on a tobacco farm near Guruve during the oppressive colonial rule and the protracted war of liberation of Zimbabwe. It is no secret the immense contribution of the unique creative establishment’s mapping of today’s Zimbabwe stone sculpture practice and the marketing of the medium beyond the country’s geographical demarcations. Today we want to visit the state of the once thriving spiritual stone carving community as it is a natural phenomenon that things do not remain the same. It will be appropriate to have a brief interface with the history of the conceiving of the stone sculpture colony. It was during the pick of the unbearable colonial oppression and the fighting of the war of liberation of Zimbabwe by the indigenous people in the 60s when the then Southern Rhodesia now Zimbabwe was considerably richer in the British colonised region of Southern Africa. Southern Rhodesia provided cheap labour employment in its vast agricultural lands in the hands of overseas white colonists or foreigners handed to them on a silver platter as colonial privileges. Many nationalities from the region especially Mozambique, Zambia, the then Northern Rhodesia, Malawi the then Nyasaland, Congo and Angola migrated to Zimbabwe for employment. A subdivided tobacco farm near Guruve owned by a white South African, Tom Blomefield had numerous farm labourers from t...

Partial distribution of loan stalls Harare water projects
Ongoing water and sanitation issues continue to plague residents in the Zimbabwean capital, Harare. The issues are chiefly due to a lack of funds. The country has received a loan from China's Exim Bank. But only part of the funds have been disbursed so far, leaving several rehabilitation projects behind schedule. Terry Wangari has more on that story.

Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, industrial capital, elegant city, tree-lined boulevards, shabby gentility
Bulawayo is in Zimbabwe. It is the second-largest city in the country, after the capital Harare, and until recently was 175, Zimbabwe's industrial capital. It is a relaxed, elegant city with tree-lined boulevards and an air of shabby gentility. However, it is worth a day or two--you can find good shopping and a worthwhile movie. It means to slaughter. This is the place where Mzilikazi had his first capital and used to slaughter his enemies. Nompilo The Miraculous Visual Artist
Nimpilo Nkomo (a.k.a Noe) is a brilliant, progressive and amazing woman born with disability on the 25th of December 1980. Her mother passed on when Noe was still at her tender age and She was raised by her grandmother in Esigodini. Since 2002 the National Council of the Disabled Persons of Zimbabwe (NCDPZ) supported her financially and paid her secondary education at Daniko School in Harare and later at Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre in Bulawayo. On completion of her course at Mzilikazi Art and Craft centre, Nompilo got a sponsorship from Mrs Lilian Fonds through NCDPZ and produced paintings and textiles. She managed to do her first 2 men exhibition with the late Mandla Ndlovu at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe’s outreach programme in Bulawayo.
In 2008 the outreach programme of the National Gallery in Bulawayo offered her a residency in the Gallery studios and facilitated her support from the Culture Fund Zimbabwe Trust which still supports her residency to date.
Noe has participated in various exhibitions in and outside Bulawayo, her art works capture diverse realities of the Zimbabwean stories, including religion and politics. Noe is so fragile and captivates the hearts and spirits of those who engage with her, she is also a strong activist to the people living with disability like her. She has the ability to use her feet to paint and create beauty unlike other “able boded people” who have no zeal to or discipline to explore their creative side.
