Republic Day @ NIT Silchar | 2019
On the chilly morning of the 26th of January, 2019, India celebrated its 70th Republic Day, and NIT Silchar was no exception.
Right from sunrise, the football playground of NIT Silchar saw students arriving from their hostels to witness the parade and the flag hoisting ceremony.
The Director, NIT Silchar Prof. Sivaji Bandyopadhyay hoisted the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the National Song. The parade by the students of different hostels was followed by a mind-blowing performance showcasing the advancement and achievements of women in India, beautifully portrayed by the lady scholars of the institute.

There are themes of the rounds to be decided, models to be picked and trained in their walking style, dresses to be finalized, perfect music to be chosen in synchrony with each theme and there are pairs to be made for the couples round. What seems like a few minutes round on stage on the day of the show has so much effort that goes into making it happen. A fashion show at NIT Silchar has been so much more than a pure display of glamour. It has been about grace, poise and efforts. And this time, in 2013 the show surpassed expectations of all because for the first time we had actual designers that handled the apparels all due to the efforts of ARYAN FARAHI whose role in making the entire show is worth mentioning and applauding.
