Visiting the National Wool Museum in Geelong
We headed off to the National Wool Museum in Geelong to check out wool's colourful story, from farm to mill to garment. We get to see a 1910 Jacquard loom in operation (punch cards! PUNCH CARDS!), come face to face with the noisiest 1950s sock knitting machine in history and attempt to contribute to a communally woven tapestry.

Carpet Loom , Geelong Wool Museum.
THis is one stop off which really impressed us. this is a very worthwhile attraction if you are ever in Geelong Victoria Australia. In this Video I stated the carpet was sewn on both sides. However I feel that is in correct. Only sewn on the one side. Still an amazing machine. Built around 1910 in England and it basically grabs one inch pieces of wool takes it down onto the loom, the thread is sewn behind the top 1/2 inch then the other 1/2 inch is folded up and then sewn in place. the packer then pushes in tight tand that process again , again and again. Those cards dictate which color thread is used, thus called pattern cards. It was reported that over one thousand spools of thread on this machine at one time.

Woolgate, Geelong - 2010
How ethical is it to promote Australia as a land of massacre-hungry settlers (boo, hiss) with jars of poison (boo, hiss) to kill indigenous people? On this day (21 April, 2010) I set out to find some answers at the National Wool Museum, and left feeling cheated.
The museum's video introduction is on widescreen and serves to educate visitors about our supposed pro-massacre and pro-poison settlers. From international tourists to primary school children on excursions, people are being sold a certain version of history, without primary sources.
