What it’s REALLY like living in Puna on the Big Island of Hawaii (Funny but True)
Aloha everyone! In this video we put together a list of things you can’t” do in Hawaii. We have been living in Hawaii for almost three years now and have discovered some things that are not so obvious that you cannot do in Hawaii. The list is meant to be funny and comes from our own personal experience living on big island in the Puna district. So don't take it too seriously =). There is, however, some truth to all of the things that made the list. Hope you enjoy!! Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE! - Mahalo

Hawaii 2008, Big Island, Kona, Slide Show
In January 2008 we saw on Big Island native Kona settlement with the thatched huts and totems. The Christian Kona is a pleasant tourist town with church, town hall and Palace of the native king. The pictures of hawaiian nobility hung in the Kona hotel including a giant marlin. We had a sea excursion on the catamaran and saw several whales playing. On the way home we saw poinsettia field and pictures in the black lava made of sea shells.
KĀKOU – Hawai‘i’s Town Hall: The Future of Work | Program
Will you be employable? Will your children?
Conversations about the future and the kind of world our children and their children will inherit from us include familiar concerns and well-defined subjects: The National Debt. Environmental Destruction. Climate Change. Sustainability. But there’s another conversation that needs to happen. Although the workplace has changed throughout the decades, none of us can fully grasp the kind of transformational change that lies ahead. How we work. Where we work. And the skills we need for work will change work – as we know it today – forever.
The FUTURE OF WORK is the topic for the next live KĀKOU – Hawai‘i’s Town Hall – Thursday, October 25 from 8:00 – 10:00 pm. Representatives from government, labor and the education and business communities will be joined by workers, parents and students for a community conversation about what is referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the impact it is creating on local economies and employment landscapes – including Hawai‘i’s. Are we preparing our children for a future where disruptive technology will transform the workplace and much of the way we live?
What will life in Hawai‘i be like 10, 20 and 30 years from now when technology is firmly embedded and in most cases dominating the workplace? Could this be a positive opportunity to diversify Hawai‘i’s economy and job landscape? How do we prepare future generations for WORK 4.0?

PBS Hawaii - Insights: Is Public School Reform Working for Hawaii's Students?
The $75 million Race to the Top grant gave Hawaii's public schools a much needed boost toward overall student academic achievement. But educators still believe we have a long way to go to get our students career- and college-ready. What more needs to be done as we prepare to apply the standards of the one-size-fits-all Common Core nationalized plan for education? Are we placing too much of a burden on our teachers? Should the focus be on parents?
