Mill Creek Falls, near Prospect Oregon
We hiked down the valley on an easy trail to a cliff above the raging water below and across from the very impressive Mill Creek Falls. My son Ryan and I would later work our way down the cliff to the water edge below where we found ourselves being covered with mist from the falls. My daughter-in-laws cousin Alan decided not to risk the cliff trail.....This area is one of the most unique I have ever seen as it also part of the Avenue of the Giant Boulders.

Winter Storm - Mill Creek Falls, Prospect OR
One of the best hikes in Southern Oregon, Mill Creek Falls has two water falls over 100ft high. My friend and I hiked down the step ravine to get as close as we could to the raging river. Filmed on my GoPro at 2.7k at 60fps.
Taken 12/18/15.

Prospect Falls / Watson Falls / Oregon
1. Prospect Falls is a moderate series of cascades along the Rogue River immediately outside the small town of Prospect, south of Crater Lake.
2.Watson Falls in the North Umpqua drainage in Douglas County.
There are at least 238 waterfalls in the U.S. state of Oregon.
Both are easy access from the road.

Mill & Barr Creek Falls, Ave of Boulders, Pearsoney Falls
All of these are just south of Prospect, OR. on Hwy 62
Mill Creek Falls tumbles 173 feet into the Rogue River Gorge while Barr Creek Falls drops initially over a 60 feet , which is mostly obscured by trees, then cascades 30 feet and finally plunges 150 feet to the canyon floor.
The Avenue of the Boulders provides visual information as to the power of volcanic eruptions and the strength of water flows. These boulders were thrown all the way from Mt. Mazama- more than 20 miles distant – when it erupted 7,700 years ago and created the caldera now known as Crater Lake.
This section of the upper Rogue River is relatively flat and gentle above here, then crosses under the Mill Creek Drive Bridge (what was at one time a covered bridge), and drops rapidly into the Gorge. The view from the bridge encompasses the Rogue’s roaring waters (in spring) with Mt. McLoughlin in the distance. A trail north of the river is a view from a 100-foot-tall cliff. Trails south of the bridge wind you down into the boulders.
Plunging more than 20 feet from the forest above, Pearsoney Falls is one of many breathtaking waterfalls tucked away in the Southern Oregon Cascades. Named after two families who were among the first pioneers in the area, the Pearsons and the Mahoneys, Pearsoney Falls is accessed by a short trail near the historic town of Prospect, 40 miles north of Medford.

Exploring Mill Creek Falls & Avenue of Giant Boulders
This past weekend we decided to do some exploring near Prospect state park.. It was about a 70 minute drive Northeast of us.
We saw Mill Creek Falls, Avenue of Giant Boulders, and Lost Creek Lake.. These destinations were definitely touristy in some areas, but we had a fun outdoor adventure once we left the main trails!

This was a moderate paced walk to the ravine trail where I slid my way down to Mill Creek falls. From there I went through the mini rainforest which opens up to Barr creek falls. The climb down is much steeper than it looks. People have died here. Do no attempt any of this, I am not liable if you do.
I will return here many times with different paths, pace, and style. This video lost some quality during render and upload, future videos will be of better quality.
Please support this venture by being an early subscriber. I am working on the Adventure series, Relaxing ASMR walks, Bicycle/Motorcycle/Train rides, and Hikes/Walks for viewing on treadmills and stationary exercise bikes.
