Zagreb (Croatia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Zagreb is the political and cultural heart of Croatia, an amiable capital city located at the intersection of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe and a city that holds many memories of the Danube Monarchy. Zagreb originated in the Middle Ages from two rival settlements on neighbouring hills, the bishop's seat of Kaptol which is dominated by its cathedral and the free city of Gradec which was its political centre. They both formed the city’s Upper Town. The cathedral dominates the Kaptol district, its two steeples towering above the old city. The city’s marvellous Botanical Garden contains an array of wonderful natural sights. It boasts ten thousand tree and plant varieties including alpine, Mediterranean, and the exotic. Small ponds with water plants are also included in the four point seven hectare gardens. An imposing arcaded facade forms the entrance to the Mirogoj Cemetery which is laid out as a park and is an artistic masterpiece. Here, leading sculptors built tombs for the country’s most famous personalities from the arts, culture and politics, including the grave of Franjo Tudjman. A narrow mountain road leads up to the Medvednica Nature Park, outside the city gates. The mediaeval Medvedgrad Fortress is a most striking and interesting attraction located in twenty three thousand hectares of natural landscape. Zagreb is a special city, unique, with a never-ending story, a city that has witnessed a thousand years and, due to its historic values, has become a European Capital Of Culture.

One Day In Plitvice National Park & Zagreb | Top Croatia Travel Vlog 2019
Plitvice National Park ... Have you ever heard about this magical place in Croatia?! Few months ago my friend from Erasmus suggested me to go there, and it was just the best decision ever ever ever! The views are simply fascinating! So incredibly beautiful! One of the BEST places I have ever visited!
And most importantly, it is very easy to get there from the capital of the country - Zagreb, where we spent one day.
We used FlixBus ( ) and the price was just 10 euro one way that took 2 hours.
In this video you will see a review of Zagreb ( Museum of Broken Relationships, city center, food, REALITY) and stunning views of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Hope you will like it :)
Don't forget: travel more - it is worth it!

Zagreb Travel Guide - Croatia Memorable Adventure
Zagreb Travel Guide - Croatia Memorable Adventure
Zagreb is a city in Central Croatia and the capital of Croatia. Zagreb is a vibrant city of more than 800K people (metropolitan area: more than 1.1 million). The city boasts a charming medieval 'old city' look with architecture and cobbled streets reminiscent of Vienna, Budapest, Prague and other Central European cities. In 2018 it was visited by about 1.2 million tourists, mainly from South Korea, United States, Germany, China and Italy. Enjoy the free WiFi available at the main square and around the national theatre.
The imposing mountain overlooking Zagreb (Medvednica) contains a preserved fortress (Medvedgrad) and fascinating views of the city. Being respectful in the fort is a good idea, since it is the site of the Altar of the Homeland memorial, dedicated to Croatian soldiers who died in the Homeland war. There are several historical festivals during the year, including knights tournaments.
Zagreb is split into seventeen administrative divisions called city districts:
Donji grad(Lower town)
Gornji Grad–Medveščak(Upper town–Medveščak)
Trnje
Maksimir
Peščenica – Žitnjak
Novi Zagreb – istok (New Zagreb–East)
Novi Zagreb – zapad (New Zagreb–West)
Trešnjevka – sjever (Trešnjevka–North)
Trešnjevka – jug (Trešnjevka–South)
Črnomerec
Gornja Dubrava (Upper Dubrava)
Donja Dubrava (Lower Dubrava)
Stenjevec
Podsused – Vrapče
Podsljeme
Sesvete
Brezovica
The historical part of the city to the north of Ban Jelačić Square is composed of the Gornji Grad and Kaptol, a medieval urban complex of churches, palaces, museums, galleries and government buildings that are popular with tourists on sightseeing tours. The historic district can be reached on foot, starting from Jelačić Square, the centre of Zagreb, or by a funicular on nearby Tomićeva Street. Each Saturday, (from April till the end of September), on St. Mark's Square in the Upper town, tourists can meet members of the Order of The Silver Dragon (Red Srebrnog Zmaja), who reenact famous historical conflicts between Gradec and Kaptol. It's a great opportunity for all visitors to take photographs of authentic and fully functional historical replicas of medieval armour.
Zagreb's numerous museums reflect the history, art and culture not only of Zagreb and Croatia, but also of Europe and the world.
The Archaeological Museum
Modern Gallery (Croatian: Moderna galerija)
Croatian Natural History Museum (1 Demetrova Street)
Technical Museum (18 Savska Street)
Museum of the City of Zagreb (20 Opatička Street)

Nature Park Medvednica -Sljeme Zagreb Croatia
Mèdvednica is a mountain in central Croatia, just north of Zagreb and marking the southern border of the historic region of Zagorje. The highest peak, at 1,035 m, is Sljeme. Most of the area of Medvednica is a nature park, a type of preservation lesser than a national park. The area of the park is 228.26 square kilometers and about 63% is covered with forest. The name Medvednica could be translated as bear mountainand Medvedgrad is a medieval castle on its southwestern edges. During summer one can find pleasant refreshment on Medvednica and during winter temperature inversion is sometimes present. Anticyclone forms above the cold continent during winter. When its center is close, it is cold and gloomy in Zagreb and on Sljeme it is warmer. Mean annual air temperature on Medvednica is 6.2 °C and in Zagreb 11.4 °C. Mean temperature in summer months is on average 6 °C lower than it is in Zagreb. There is a winter sports center on the northern slopes towards Sljeme. The center has hosted several FIS World Cup slalom skiing races, known as the Snow Queen Trophy.
The winter sports center consists of one chairlift for three persons and two T-bar lifts. Equipment for producing artificial snow has been added, and because of that the skiing season has been prolonged to more than four months.

Eric Clark's Travel Videos - Zagreb Croatia - Dolac Market. 1 of the Top 10 Tourist Sites
I am visiting the top 10 tourist sites in Zagreb. So you can see them before you come. = )
From Wikipedia
Dolac (pronounced [dɔ̌lat͡s]) is a farmers' market located in Gornji Grad - Medveščak city district of Zagreb, Croatia. Dolac is the most visited and the best known farmer's market in Zagreb, well known for its combination of traditional open market with stalls and a sheltered market below. It is located only a few dozen meters away from the main city square, Ban Jelačić Square, between the oldest parts of Zagreb, Gradec and Kaptol. The Dolac market Zagreb is centrally located right behind the town’s main square.
The daily market, on a raised square a set of stairs up from Jelačić, has been the city’s major trading place since 1926. Farmers from surrounding villages come to sell their home-made foodstuffs and very fresh fruit and vegetables. In the covered market downstairs are butchers, fishmongers and old ladies selling the local speciality sir i vrhnje (cheese and cream). Flowers and lace are also widely available. Alongside, the renovated fish market, ribarnica, sells fresh produce every day but Monday.[1]
My name is Eric Clark and I am a world traveler. I have been around the world a few times and decided to help fund my travels by sharing my videos and pictures. I have been to almost every country and would be glad to give tips and pointers. Drop me a note. = )

The Sava Floodplains - Croatia's secret paradise
Every year, in the middle of Croatia, it's the same story: after the annual snowmelt, a huge flood wave spills out of the Alps toward Zagreb and Belgrade. This leads to an increase in the River Sava's water levels of some ten meters. The contents of more than ten billion bathtubs floods an area the size of Lake Constance, often for months on end, yet still the Croatian and Serbian capital is spared a flood disaster. One of the reasons for this is the fact that the Sava is able to flow unhindered. The annual floods not only create a natural retention reservoir for flood control: alongside the Sava lies a natural paradise, unique in Central Europe. In the species-rich, alluvial flood forests of the last major meadow landscapes of the continent, enormous predatory fish like the catfish lie in wait for prey.
The fertile floodplains of the Sava are an important resting place for more than 240 bird species, including Hoopoe, great crested Grebe, little Egret, common snipe and pied Avocet. Old, domestic livestock breeds like the Turopolje pig and Posavina horse spend almost the entire year in the floodplains. They appreciate the alluvial meadows, keep puddles and mudholes open whilst wallowing and, as living lawnmowers, they ensure that the moist meadows aren't transformed into dense oak forests. Thanks to this traditional pasture farming, more than 700 pairs of white stork alone breed in the Lonjsko Polje National Park. The Sava Floodplains allow us to glance into the past of our continent and at the same time, illustrate just how flood protection for major towns can be perfected.

Croatia - Our beautiful homeland
A rich culture and the breathtaking landscapes of the Croatian Mediterranean. This has made Croatia one of the most popular holiday regions of Europe, already at times of the United Yugoslavia. In two episodes Hans Jöchler and his team travel the land of the countless islands and historically meaningful places on the mainland. The film shows impressive landscapes on the mainland and the islands. However it delivers an informative insight into the busy history of a multiethnic nation, which became a full member of the European Union in 2014.
This first of two episodes presents well known destinations like Rovinji. Here many traces of the Venetians are to be found which once were rulers of the country. Furthermore the city of Pula and some of the 1242 islands of Croatia stand on the itinerary, such as Cres or Pag. One of the highlights is the visit of the oldest national park of Europe, Paklenica with its impressive gorges and black pine wood. A visit of the former capitol city of Dalmatia, Zadar stands before the boat trip to the Kornati.
On Dugi Otok the team puts the heads and the camera under water briefly, to be astonished about the variety of ocean coral species and molluscs at the up to 90 meters deep steep slopes. Finally the team heads on for Riva, one of the most popular tourist destinations of Croatia. This film gives the audience an impression of a country which suffers often from just being seen as a destination for mass tourism. But hardly many people know about its high cultural status proved for example by old sacred buildings or the Artworks and crafts.

CROATIA: ZAGREB: CITY IS PUT ON GENERAL ALERT
Natural Sound
The Croatian capital of Zagreb went on general alert Friday evening following this (Friday) morning's massive offensive against the rebel Serb enclave of Krajina.
Fears of a counter attack have been running high all day especially in the wake of May's rocket attack which killed eight and wounded many more.
As the sound of the air raid pierced the air, Zagreb was once again on alert.
Terrified civilians ran for safety as it appeared that the Croatian capital was under attack.
And cafe workers hastily removed tables and chairs from the street.
The rebel Serbs' Defence Ministry claimed they had fired at least one rocket into Zagreb although there was no immediate word on either casualties or damage.
Once on alert, civilians gathered in shelters as they waited to see what damage was to be inflicted on the capital.
Outside the streets were virtually deserted.
Trams stood still in the middle of the road - its usual passengers hiding for fear of their lives.
